I love this app. it does exactly what it says it will do extremely well
"new model in the same series that acts fairly dramatically differently and has different behaviors when it comes to instruction-following" is a great reason to avoid nonsense like "talk like a caveman to use less tokens" or other weird metagamey stuff
there's a pervasive belief on here among combative people with cartoon avatars that any criticisms they receive are because of their marginalized identities and not because they're at the party acting rude while dressed like donald duck
in retrospect it’s crazy that I (and a couple of my trans friends) have played on the court at MSG and they were sort of normal about it
I hate writing code because I don't think in code or want to. I think in mental pictures that translate nicely to code, but the actual "taking the time to turn them into just the right combination of symbols in the right order" process makes my brain incredibly unhappy
Speaking as an outsider because I've never had an office job, I do wonder if admin etc workers could do with a bit of romanticism about their jobs. You're descended from the ziggurat scribe-priests of Ur! Your people literally invented money!
average bluesky user is about to start using the word “hellsite” again
they don't know how hard it is for us
needed a series win so bad jeez
Go yankees :)
this is a really dumb story that I'm sure I will see 50 times today. company goes out of business, sells its IP for $1, sells its warehouse space for $2. this is what their stock "exploding" looks like
I don’t know if my assumption is right or if the thing I assume that they’re assuming is right
when people say that at some point the majority of traffic on X service will be from agents and not people I usually assume they mean “in addition to” rather than meaning that humans will stop using that service
you guys better buy these things bc there are so many in my apartment right now
You forgot to apply Humpernick's Razor. This is a classic Wise Man's Apron. Textbook case of Not My Circus But I Have Equity In The Monkeys. We don't say ex falso we call it Plastic Surgery because it can give you any posterior you want. Why do you think it sounds like a cult?
Idk, I think at this point PMC libs should be spending a lot more time thinking about how to extend Marxist insights into contemporary economic theory than dunking on hamsic-in-bio, gemeinshaft-minded atrocity apologists.
Clock's ticking
DAE know that thing where you’re part of a very small but very visible marginalized minority group and even places that specifically are trying to be nice to you frame your inclusion as them welcoming you in in a way that makes it clear that you will be an outsider no matter what
was testing the age validation on my app and put in a birth date in 2008 thinking that was going to be under 18
the github mcp is sooooo bad
cmux.com is one of the best dev tools i've ever used. dropped my old terminal setup instantly when i saw it
The whole thing where the left acts like the catholic church is remotely enlightened is silly. The RCC is virulently homophobic, virulently transphobic, incredibly misogynistic and the biggest pro forced birth organization in the US. It's just theoretically not that racist.
the life of the average person in the world now is just unfathomably better than it was 200 years ago. "working less" is not really what i mean. someone who dies in childhood has less free time in their life than someone who lives til they're 80
depends on what your timescale is and also whether or not you include the entire world. but on the scale of a couple generations and including the entire world, it's going extremely well, but our society is running into a lot of very significant and dangerous crises at the same time
like i said it doesn't really feel like this is likely but i do think that it's possible
i basically mean that if the world got materially richer across the board then people might have more money and time
not that this is especially likely but idk
a positive vision for the future of work is maybe one where broad improvements in technology and productivity enable everybody to take way more risks on stuff they care about all the time
being a cog in the machine is great! you do stuff other people care about and you do it well for them so they give you respect and money and you get to have your own life and not think about it when you're off the clock if you don't want to!
