seriously though, I've made a ton of friends through the Touhou club I co-founded at my school and have had a ton of fun. ik we're all nerds that don't go outside but it really is nice to go outside together, as touhou fans. our little pocket of nerdery is bigger than you might think!

Which is better than active hostility like our colleagues in wind/solar are facing. My hope is the knowledge from building NPPs for data centers will be used to build NPPs to replace current supply. It's unclear if the admin will do this after their billionaire donors get their electricity.

Big tech investments come with the risk of getting big tech involved. It will guarantees that the data centers will likely use cleaner energy (which is great!), but all that energy will go to the data centers rather than to replacing fossil fuels that are already used. It stalls rather than solves.

I do think nuclear is still going to progress, but that is going to be b/c of big tech and not b/c of the administration, who is too obsessed with, bizarrely, "clean" coal. I think I'd hate it less if they didn't call it clean. At least have the courage to say "not having lung cancer is woke."

The endangerment finding repeal is why I've been cautious about the administration's support of nuclear. An anti-science administration cannot effectively go full speed ahead, as this gets rid of a big incentive for nuclear power. They will support on paper but detonate all the supporting work.

Ah, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta route. They are a UNGA observer (and an observer in a few other suborgs).
