These two songs were both commissions: I wrote "Aubade" for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Refuge, and "Quiet Corner" was written for the Yale-Myers Forest in northeastern Connecticut. Many thanks to both of those organizations for inviting me to explore those spaces.
