The government's inaction risks condemning the country to six months of uncertainty.
People's bills are rising now. It's time to act now.

A wicker basket filled with speckled eggs surrounded by delicate white and pink blossom flowers sits on a rustic blue wooden surface. Overlaid text reads “Happy Easter” in large green and white lettering
Wishing a very Happy Easter to everyone celebrating in the UK and beyond today.
Badenoch and Farage cheered on Trump's war that has send fuel costs soaring. Now they are trying to backpedal with weak plans that give no help today.
Our plans would bring down prices at the pump by 12p per litre.
In a world energy crisis it is not the job of government to allow everyone to carry on with unchanged behaviours. It's the job of government to ensure we all do our bit, and to help those in real need.
America, under Trump, is no longer the reliable ally that is once was.
We need our own independent nuclear deterrent.

Bloody hell. 👏🏼
Chatting to a floating voter - fellow victim of the care system. We chat about windrush, colonialism in Ireland, they cite the terror of “no blacks no dogs no Irish”, and he is thinking of giving reform a go.
Voters are complex beings, man.
Nigel Farage, No Friend of Pintsmen
Far from being a community effort to defend boozers, Reform UK’s campaign to ‘save British pubs’ is a seedy attempt to open up tax breaks for millionaire hospitality tycoons.

Transphobia is a rot that hurts everyone. Everyone should be safe in our city centre, and this kind of violence for clickbait is unacceptable. Full solidarity with @greenpartyhan.bsky.social and bravo to her for staying resolute against these bullies. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater...
No plan after Iraq. No plan for Iran now.
Trump is repeating the same mistakes.

We know people are worried about a far right group arriving in Manchester, and about the risk of harassment or violence.
Manchester is a working class city built by migrants, by neighbours who look out for each other.
Such discrimination cut against the community values that make our city a home.

We're horrified to hear the news of this attack today, especially on Yom Kippur. Our thoughts are with the victims of today's attack and Manchester's Jewish community. Manchester is no place for hate, and we stand united against it.
April & Tracey pooks at last week selection meeting for Withington and old moat ward In Manchester for city council elections in 2026
Exciting local Libdem news! Returned for #Withington ward on 100% of ballot but more excitedly we have recruited Tracey Pooks for neighbouring ward #OldMoat.
Tracey is a community legend and fellow single mum, working class lass ready to speak truth to power.
And then some💪🏻
Absolutely thrilled😍

We're spending 2025 building and training more ward campaign teams, candidates and lead campaigners. There's never been a better time to join and get involved. libdems.org.uk/join-local
So far these elections are saying that where the Lib Dems have the capacity to fight, we do and we can win. But we don't have the capacity to fight everywhere (and can't rely on the media). If in 2026 you don't want to see a repeat of the rise of Reform in Manchester, now's the time to join us.
