A metal bowl on a dish towel. Four eggs in the bowl. Floating in the whites are four yolks, the one on the bottom broken so that it looks like it’s smirking. The three other yolks form the eyes and nose of the face.

If you see this, post something orange from your gallery.

When I posted this on Facebook a while back, I gave it the caption:

“How would you like your eggs this morning?”

“Clownish, please.”

Mine would slam the top of her head hard into my jaw in her version of that, accompanied by a glorious snort-purr (those occasions were very nearly the only times I ever heard her purr at all). What an endorphin party those moments were.

We guys do the same thing with our clothes. The worn out one that’s become a favorite or the newer one that still needs a little breaking in? From October 2015.

Long ago, a girlfriend and I lay down on her deck in the mountains 20 miles east of San Diego, stared at stars, and listened to coyotes howl.

We’re still friends, and I’m glad we’ll be able to do that from my balcony just off Central Ave. soon. (Probably sitting down, though.) 😆

My application for the apartment in NE Minneapolis is now with the property manager, and after I emailed it to her, I googled for "Minneapolis cat rescues" and saw some real cuties looking for homes. I'll probably wait to adopt until I'm very settled, but I'm happy with how things are going.

If you celebrate, happy Easter.

(The photo isn’t mine, but it’s my cover photo on Facebook every Easter, so why not here, too.)

If NOTHING else, isn’t it time for someone to take his phone while it’s on the First Charger, turn off both wifi and cell service, and use a Sharpie to draw the lines on there so he THINKS he’s online?

Always happy to post my cat on Caturday. I’ve always loved the symmetry of my arm with her foreleg in this pic.

There is no part of a turkey that is, in whole or in part, a pig. Thus, there is no such thing as turkey bacon. Truth in labeling laws really need to be updated. :\ (Applies to pastrami as well.)

A reference to it nudged me into picking up Wells' "War of the Worlds," which I doubt I've reread since around 7th grade. It's still great -- solid pacing, wonderful tension. Fine descriptive work with that overlay of horror. Good choice.

One night in Austin in '93, I was catching some bands, and ended up bar-hopping with a top-tier Americana musician who, as the Continental Club closed at 2, invited me to her home, where we danced to her huge collection of surf records until sunup.

I adopted my cat in mid-May ’98 and the shelter said she was 10 weeks old, so I counted back and chose Feb. 28 as her birthday. She died in my lap of old age in Nov. ’18 and I miss her every day. I’ve got thousands of photos of her but here are four for #Caturday.

I saw a guy with a staple gun putting up fliers on the boarded Gray’s Drug in Dinkytown. You don’t see much of that anymore so I went over to look. A six-person startup in the collectible sneakers space is seeking a social media manager.
