🌍 Open the door to international partnerships — deploying removals where conditions and costs align.
It's not policy yet, but it's a strong signal. For those building engineered carbon removal solutions, it's a step towards the market certainty we urgently need.
✈️ Expand the SAF mandate to include geologically permanent removals — establishing a compliance market to drive demand.
Its headline proposals?
📊 Classify removals by permanence, not method — giving buyers a clearer way to assess quality.

The UK's roadmap for scaling carbon removals is here.
After six months of investigation, the Independent Review of Greenhouse Gas Removals has set out the clearest plan yet for how the UK will deploy carbon removals to reach Net Zero by 2050. 👇
Meet Molly 👋
She’s leading the effort to validate the longevity of one of our key technical components, our electrodialysis stack.
Testing the membranes that make up this stack, 24 hours a day, for years to come, means future-proof DAC for any application.
Thanks Molly! 👩🔬

Govt needs to address the "valley of death" ↓
Building on the strength of its innovation funding in the sector, the Govt should commit to additional support for pilot and mid-scale projects as they move into commercial deployment.
Attention is needed outside of CDR clusters ↓
Non-pipeline transport could open the market for smaller, more dispersed forms of removals that are ready to deploy in the short term.
GGRs aren't a one size fits all solution ↓
Instead, a portfolio approach to GGRs is needed to reach Net Zero in the UK. It’s recommended that the Govt develop a GGR Strategy outlining which contributions should come from where.
The UK's long-anticipated Independent Review of Green House Gas Removals (GGR) has been published! ⬇️
A snapshot of where the GGR market is today, it includes recommendations on what’s needed to scale it to help meet the UK’s 2050 climate goals.

5/5 Learn more about the key differences between each direct air capture method and why so much of the technology’s success hinges on the regeneration process ⬇️
tinyurl.com/5n984hdn
#DirectAirCapture #ClimateTechnology #Engineering #Sustainability
4/5 While much of the discussion stops there, we believe the real site for difference within DAC lies in the regeneration process.
This can be broken into four main areas:
1) Low-grade heat (<200°C)
2) High-grade heat (~800°C)
3) Humidity
4) Electrochemical
3/5 When a DAC system is flooded with air, its CO₂ content needs to be isolated. This is often divided into either:
🧱 Solid capture
OR
💧 Liquid capture
2/5 All DAC technologies innovate across two core processes:
1) CO₂ capture: Selectively binding CO₂ from the air to a capture medium.
2) CO₂ regeneration: Releasing CO₂ from that capture medium as a pure gas.
1/5 As more direct air capture technologies enter the market, understanding what sets them all apart is vital for identifying the most impactful pathways that will take us into the future.
