I was a 6 year old anxious child when this book was published. I remember the panic about overpopulation. i would look for open fields when i was on road trips with my parents to reassure myself there was still somewhere to build new houses for the outcome of the looking population explosion.

I reviewed for The Romance Reader and remember when Laurie Gold left TRR to start All About Romance. (I'm old as dirt too!)My tastes don't align much with AAR these days, except for Caz's reviews of queer romance, but I'll still pour one out for them when the last new review is posted.

Discovered him through the Rhino Records Poptopia! CDs. I think he lost his wife tragically so maybe it provides some comfort to think that he is reunited with her now? May his memory be a blessing.

Shinn recently released SHIFTER AND SHADOW, a long awaited (by me anyway) sequel to THE THIRTEENTH HOUSE that finally resolves a key relationship that was left dangling. It's published by Fairwood Press; the major publishers made the bonehead decision to drop her a while ago.

"Rage bait," hmmm. Now I understand why Paste magazine made an absolutely bizarre choice for their recently updated 50 Best Beatles Songs list.

Listened to his songs growing up in the 1960s, and then fell in love with them all over again when my future husband and I discovered we were both fans. May his memory be a blessing.

Discovered the Gladhands about ten years ago. Glad to meet the other fan! How can you not love a group with a song that references Hermit of Mink Hollow?

Do Elizabeth Peters and Barbara Michaels count as one author? Ditto Nora Roberts and JD Robb.

Enemies to Lovers: On the Romance Genre’s Mainstream Come-Up Lately, I find myself bringing up romance on the dance floor. Do you know Talia Hibbert? A four-bedroom in Bushwick: picture me shouting over the music, my sweaty upper lip, hips swaying to a thump…

Another one of those "I guess romance novels are okay after all" articles, this time from the highbrow Lit Hub. @kjcharleswriter.com is quoted. lithub.com/enemies-to-l...

The quiet end of a loud year Bracing for the punch of 2025

“This country is about to become a national cock fight with us in the ring and the guys outside betting we’ll turn on each other before we realize they’re the ones who orchestrated it.”

May her memory be a blessing. Enjoyed the theme song - when did Polly Holliday leave the show? Did she get a spin-off?

Mazel Tov! I am pleasantly surprised that a RS article discusses romance novels with only a touch of snark. I hope the rec leads to at least a few balding, Dad bod, Rush fanboys joining the KJC Fan Club!
