Four years ago today I underwent stem cell transplant. At present, with maintenance chemo, the cancer is not progressing. I’m hugely grateful for this, and for the NHS, as well as family and friends who have travelled this path with me.

In January 2015 I saw a kingfisher for the first time and since then there have been numerous sightings. The kingfisher has become an abiding motif and informed my theme as President of the Baptist Union, 'Attentive to rhythms of grace.' A joy to see one the last two days! (not my photo)
