“The Fed should have an open mind towards all sorts of data, but the things that central banks can affect are things that are not one-off in nature, but are persistent and find their way into the generalized price level,” Warsh replied.

US wars don’t appear to be one-off as best I can tell.

Pet hate, talking head politician videos on mastodon/bluesky. I’ve never going to turn the sound on and watch or listen. And I’m not reading the captions either. If you want me to understand your policies a link to a long form written explanation would be nice.

Vance accuses EU of ‘foreign interference’ in upcoming Hungarian election while endorsing Orbán

JD Vance flies to Hungary to interfere with the election, while complaining that people who haven't flown to Hungary to interfere with the election are interfering with the election.

I doubt he'd know where to feed himself if it wasn't for his mouth flapping all day long.

That’s pretty much a given for most farmers. No or illegal plates, broken lighting (apart from the strobes and spots)

Carlingford shaping up
To be the usual Easter Sunday mess, which queues outside the pubs. Lots of Gardai, but no enforcement of parking

Title: Easter Egg Hunt techniques inspired by great detectives

Panel 1: Sherlock Holmes.
Deduce the exact location of every egg from seemingly unrelated details without leaving your room. Send your amazed sidekick to fetch them.

Panel 2: Jack Reacher
Hit the garden hard and fast.
Take no prisoners
Get back on the road.
This approach results in a thrillingly intense hunt, but very few intact eggs.

Panel 3: George Smiley
Meticulously assess documents, people and motives. Then scrupulously collect the eggs and dejectedly wonder if any of it was worthwhile.

To be clear, we aren’t billed on a net use basis. The feed in rate is about half of the day use rate.

Haven’t had a net annual bill since we installed panels and a battery. Payback in 5-6yrs I reckon.

Yep, can report that it’s well done. A few liberties with the book as to be expected, but well executed.

Just to be clear, that’s based on a quick search, so might be worth tracking down the actual legislation to get the exact wording.

If they meet certain criteria they are exempt it would seem. www.solarinfo.ie/solar-panels...

Agree. My first real job was working through the X11 and Motif conformance tests for Sun. Test failures more often than not were due to ambiguity in the spec.
