Congrats Luis on your 1st author paper!
We identified a potent mast cell-activating peptide (MP12W) that, when combined with CpG, forms a nanoparticle intranasal vaccine providing broad protection against H1 influenza.

Check out Ryan Woodring's 1st author publication "Supervised Machine Learning for Predicting Drug Release from Acetalated Dextran Nanofibers"
Just accepted: pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...
We show that drug release is dictated by scaffold parameters not drug physiochemical properties.
Thanks @dpmp-unc.bsky.social grad student volunteers for joining me in exciting local middles schoolers about science! We did making medicines with alginate particles, emulsions & extracting DNA from strawberries. Also fire & ice with non-burning $, methanol cannon, crush the can & liquid nitrogen.
To cap off Recruitment Weekend @kristy-ainslie-lab.bsky.social Grad Students excelled at the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research & Graduate Education Retreat.
Ryan Woodring took 1st place for his 10min talk.
Sophie Mendell won for her poster presentation.
Congrats to all who took part!
We welcomed candidates to UNC & DPMP for in-person recruitment last week. Our grad student hosts showed them the ropes & we capped it off with a poster symposium showcasing cutting-edge research. Huge thanks to our hosts & everyone who participated in our poster symposium!
