It was amazing to create this in 3 days, which would not have been possible without this dedicated team 🙌:
Arthur Thives Mello, Jazelle Maira Carillo, Zafer Öztürk, Melanie Imming, and Mathijs van Woerkum

The film features 7 academics talking about their personal turning points towards openness. With this film, we hope to empower people towards change.
We created this film during our teamwork during the Open Science Retreat in Schoorl. Feel free to share!

There's no data steward in Japan. But many people are already doing data stewardship. I look forward to collaborating more internationally so that we can together make scholarship more open and more responsible, leaving no one behind.
Thank you for all those whom I exchanged my business card with. It was also my first time experiencing the business card culture. (And glad that I had them printed beforehand).
I also thank Liz Guzman-Ramirez and Sandor Schmikli for supporting this travel as part of my work.
I'd like to thank all my collaborators: Atsushi Kanamaru, Honami Numajiri, Kyoko Asai, Takayuki Hayashi, Kohei Maruyama, Rina Watanabe, and Souji Yoshida for making this great session possible.
Last month, I gave a talk about data stewardship in my home country, Japan! It was my first time giving a professional presentation in Japanese. I was nervous, but I think it went well.

I might set up an unofficial live stream if there's an interest. Please DM me.

I went into the FAIR rabbit hole so that you don't have to! In my talk, I will share my mistakes and how you could avoid them. No prior experience is needed. Just a curiosity about how to make data FAIR.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of Japan's surrender during WWII. My grandfather was deployed in China. He never talked about the war. When I asked him, I saw his pain and scars through his eyes. I carry them with me in tribute to him.

Data cannot flow without software, and Linux is the default software of the web. By understanding it, I want to promote better data management. 🫶
Also, I now feel far more comfortable managing my server at home, which has been a huge plus for me. 🏠
Just updated #janai, and oh my it's improved a lot. With the Jan nano model, the token speed is at 47 tokens/sec on my mac. Pretty impressive.

CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery.
America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.
Watch and share his message.
