I spent two summers here doing research on inequalities in government responses to disasters, focused on what had taken place in Puerto Rico following hurricane Maria. NCAR has led on so many scientific advances. This admin’s harm to the scientific workforce in the US is beyond measure.

Seems like a deep red state, Indiana, might vote down the Trump-mandated partisan gerrymander, even after Trump threatened to pull all federal funding. Trump is creating a shared grievance that crosses the ideological spectrum, and his coalition keeps showing cracks.
Assessing the presence of these actors in UN climate negotiations and their interactions with climate diplomats would be an important contribution.

Movements need to innovate. The tactics that worked in the past may not work today.

While the choice to award Machado the Nobel Peace Prize is being framed as a kind of girl-boss democracy win, the reality is a bit more complicated.
