Just to be completely accurate and pedantic, I was actually facing to the east at this moment. But counterintuitively, you must often start in the wrong direction to find your way.

The important thing is to start.

I hate that I wrote “siting”.

This was a delightful natter with @pbattisson.bsky.social. Not that it’s surprising, Paul is someone I always find things to discuss with.

Have a listen: I go on way too long about the early Trailhead days. I was a bit part player, but I got to witness a lot of that part of Salesforce history.

If you like this one you should also consider trying Brewdog’s Mr President and Beavertown’s Lupuloid.

Pretty certain King Slayer beats them both on ABV but they still have that nice sharp high alcohol ping to them.

Watching this. Barely two weeks. And the hardcore right are already in the finding out stage of FAFO.

I’ve developed a taste for high alcohol content beers. 🍺

This one is lovely.

The source is a Daily Mail writer siting a Channel 4 survey. So worth digging deeper, but on the face of it those are stark findings.

I guess the original research isn't released until a future event.

I get that polls should be treated as point-in-time data. But what a point in time. 😬

Also 45% of Gen Z males think that we have gone as far in promoting women's equality that we're now discriminating against men. And that "when it comes to giving women equal rights, things have gone far enough".

So...I guess that's it, ladies. That's "equal enough" for you.

Disturbing stuff.

I confess, this result has me a bit boggled and unsure how to unpack this.

For Gen Z:
- 52% want a leader that rules without parliament or elections
- 33% military rule would make Britain better off
- 47% want radical change through revolution

Great evening.

So I appreciate the tip. But Chrome is key to my work flow at the moment.

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

I also use Chrome tab groups heavily to keep current work projects organized.

For work I use Chrome and have different accounts logged into different Chrome profiles (using color coding to tell them apart). I have four different work Google Workspace accounts: for my own company, two clients and one agency I work with.

I use Firefox for my personal account login. I would love to kick Chrome to the curb permanently but my work productivity and my use of Google workspace just make it impossible.

How do I make this stop popping up every. Single. M
eeting. I am so annoyed by this thing and there is no setting to just make it stop. And even more frustrating the "X" icon doesn't even work when you click on it. So. Very. Annoyed.

Red Cross providing critical relief services as thousands face unimaginable loss in southern California Hundreds of American Red Crossers are helping as Californians cope with the massive destruction from the wildfires.

I moved away from LA when I was 18. I've not lived there for over 30 years, but it will always be home. The wild fires have decimated places that were integral to my growing up.

If you can spare any amount, please consider donating to the Red Cross to assist! www.redcross.org/about-us/new...

Monki Gras 2025: Sustaining Software Development Craft Monki Gras, the tech conference about software, craft, and tech Culture, returns March 27th and 28th 2025. The theme this year is Sustaining Craft: ensuring we can keep doing the work we do. We'll hav...

Few things put a smile on my face like @monkigras.com.

I'm signed up and ready to go for what looks like another amazing conference. Can't wait!

If you work in tech and want to be challenged in how you see the industry, your work, and technology, you should come, too.

Naively I didn’t know this was a thing.

But I’m glad to know about it. And I reckon it’s come up because it’s being talked about due to the LA fires.

On balance it seems like one of the more fair things about the prison system in CA.

I grabbed those out of a gallery of stock Trailhead character images that I had access to. I don't remember if those were public assets or internal Salesforce assets.

The look on Astro's face is particularly well suited, I find.

I was watching someone use "find" recently realizing I've never properly understood how to make the most of it syntactically.

It has made me wonder: the Salesforce CLI has completely changed since I did these talks (going back to 2017). Is this something people would be interested in me revisiting? Let me know if you think so (or not...for that matter, I take all comers).

This was not gratuitous irreverence. It did have a point. I was teaching how the `wc` command works in bash-based shells.

I've been compiling a portfolio of work of mine in the public. After nearly 15 years...it turns out it's quite a bit.
