We won.

Tesla Chicago is closed.

Their new location is in a ghost town. They sacrificed visibility to thousands/day--& proximity to the other luxury car dealerships--to get away from us, because we'd turned their brand ambassador location into a liability.

Organizing works.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

We’re almost ready to announce more endorsements as part of our largest-ever Democratic primary program — because the pro-democracy movement deserves leaders who are just as committed to defeating fascism as the activists out in the streets.

People don't use the word "knave" nearly enough! Why is the stock market going up? It measures corporate profits, and profits go up when people are fired. @rbreich.bsky.social how can we create a measurement of broad economic well-being? GDP ain't it, nor is the stock market.

🚨 #AZLeg has passed #HB2133. In the name of "protecting children" from "harmful material," this overbroad, Project 2025-inspired bill attacks our right to criticize our elected officials. Gov. Hobbs is reportedly interested in signing the bill. Contact her office NOW 602-542-4331

Arizona bill to limit short-term rentals mostly dead The failure of an Arizona House measure to advance means there will be no limits on short-term rentals this year on for issues like the number of people who can

Another year has gone by with no fix to the housing crisis #AZLeg created with their incredibly permissive short-term rental system.

The article notes that, from Sedona to Scottsdale, "average workers can't find housing." Senate Republican leadership doesn't appear to give a crap.

Only 8% of "moderates" actually want moderation Two new studies reveal very few voters want a genuinely centrist political party — and moderation's electoral payoff is smaller, riskier, and less reliable than its advocates suggest

New data shows voters in “the middle” are not asking for ideological centrism, despite what centrist analysts have written. Trying to win swing voters through generic moderation produces effects so small and inconsistent that the advice is practically useless.

Washington to End Data Center Tax Break for Replacing Servers Washington is rolling back a state sales tax carveout for replacing data center equipment and backtracking on a significant estate tax increase after Gov. Bob Ferguson signed a set of tax bills into…

The state of WA will end a tax break for data centers, recouping $83 million/yr for state & local coffers. Imagine what we could do with that money — especially since #AZLeg is looking at cutting the programs Arizonans rely on.

Arizona-Utah measles outbreak surpasses 500 cases A measles outbreak at the Arizona-Utah border has eclipsed 500 cases, state data shows. The number of Arizona cases in Mohave County may be slowing.

Speaking of unserious lawmakers: #AZLeg is advancing a bill to ask voters to end school vaccine requirements or any "medical mandate." This would even ban schools from directing parents to treat kids with lice. The bill is moving on party lines, with only Republicans in support.

'A higher moral law': Republicans openly defy Arizona's abortion amendment and their oaths of office Arizona Republicans said their religious beliefs on abortion override Prop. 139 as they pushed anti-abortion bills that courts keep striking down

Rep. Lisa Fink, who represents a district in which 72% of people voted last year for Prop 139, said that she and other Republicans who took an oath to uphold the Arizona Constitution won’t actually do so if they feel it contradicts their Christian beliefs.

Experts warn bipartisan 'adult content' bill in Arizona could have far-reaching consequences Republican Rep. Nick Kupper's bill passed the state House with a supermajority. Tech advocates and legal experts think it's a "bright red flag" — but there are signs Gov. Katie Hobbs might be…

A broadly worded censorship bill now being considered at #AZLeg has "a direct line to Project 2025" & "will absolutely end up in court." Sadly, the governor is working to get it to her desk. Contact your senator & ask them to OPPOSE #HB2133!

Brackish groundwater is no easy water solution for Arizona Deep below Arizona sit large volumes of water that are less salty than the ocean, but not easily used. If it were all pumped to the surface and purified, this brackish groundwater would supply Arizon...

Lawmakers have explored this, as with brackish groundwater, but experts say it's "a mirage" with a long list of environmental, physical, financial, technical, regulatory and legal barriers. Regular desal has lots of problems too. This will require systemic change.

Why you should worry about Arizona's farms | Opinion Arizona farmers face increasing stressors due to climate change, but there are solutions. It will take some effort, but they are in reach.

"SHRINKING HARVESTS": Arizona produces 25% of the entire US lettuce supply and about 90% of its leafy greens & winter vegetables — but hotter summers & dwindling water threaten crops. Each degree of warming reduces crop harvests 10%. Will policy makers act?

The next redistricting battle might be who is counted in state legislative districts A Republican push to alter the census may lead to a radical shift in redistricting for state legislatures — drawing districts that don't take into account children and non-U.S. citizen adults.

#AZLeg Republicans want to do Trump's bidding with #SCR1031, creating a fake new citizen-only “census” that "would advantage Republicans and non-Hispanic whites." If enacted, AZ would see huge negative impacts, disenfranchising younger, diverse voters in favor of older, whiter ones.
