I don't think I could do it even relatively alone, without other people like you. You are a good soul too and I am glad to know you. 🫂

"Life doesn't discriminate
Between the sinners and the saints
It takes and it takes and it takes
And we keep living anyway
We rise and we fall and we break"
Sometimes I want to defy life, or just get tired of breaking.
But, as you said, grief is the price we pay for love. Even loving life.

Yes, I haven't posted any of my poetry that directly expresses it for the same reason. Maybe that's what made it a relief when you did, but with enough pressure behind the relief to burst a bit.
I'll quote Lin-Manuel Miranda in some of his lyrics "Wait for It" as part of the Hamilton musical:

You are interested
in dying
Me too
I guess we kind of are
Piece by piece,
old life and self
destroyed
and each hurts more.
Dying is almost always misery,
and though I should want the company,
I don't wish it on
anyone who
I love.
So not for you.
I'm going to try this again, as it is meant to express my bitterness against the depth of pain, and thus, hopefully, fulfill the request in your last stanza.
It is a pain I relate to, and am glad you shared. Shared so well that perhaps my evoked response is too raw.
Wow. Great write.
Right?
Cool! And thank you! It looks so similar to where I live. So now I want to know all about the geology of Forêt de Fontainebleau, and surrounding area! 😆
Yes, it's about human nature being so much better than it is...so that war isn't needed to protect the vulnerable, stop exploitation, etc. Regular nature is brutal enough.
What a great photo! And, of course, I'm jealous. Here is my picture of the only outdoor flower around right now:
We did the exact same thing! I don't know if they ever made it. But the strawberries were colonizing the lawn.
I love this photo! - where was it taken?

I was inspired by @sonnetsmith.bsky.social to also share the audio for this poem/ditty.
Context: with snowfall in April (as in my last post) while roads can be icy and treacherous one day, the sun is warm enough to make them normal by the next. Unfortunately, the sun doesn't do this to drivers.
I love forms too, and this one is so fabulous it is, well, on par with a madrigal! So thank you for the introduction! Triolets.😍
This made me literally shudder. Casting the predator as male and prey as female also gives it a symbolism that amplifies the impact.
We don't plant here until sometime in May when it is unlikely to freeze at night. April snow releases moisture slowly to keep the soil ready until temperatures warm up enough. It decreases wildfire risk the same way, which is becoming increasingly important.
Thank you Steve! But, um, is a "z"(zed) better or worse than a "c"?😜
I am happy with this one, especially since it came from the happenstance of seeing this when I looked up from Jen's prompt:
Bare branches
Lament
Openly of
Sinister
Snow’s
Oppression
MEANWHILE
Back in bonny Britian, BRAGGARTS
Laud
Ostentatiously their
Sweet
Spring’s
Overflowing
Magic!
BITTERNESS!!
Lugubriously
On-hold, we
Seethe, screaming:
STOP SNOWING!
OH,
MELT ALREADY!!!
Images: today & my poor junipers and rocks!
Thank you! My voice is OK, but that tells me it's good enough for sharing a fun ditty. 😊

Congratulations Jen, I'm so happy for you! And a great piece of writing...(even if it's prose! 😜)
That took waaay too long to figure out, even with your helpful advice. It might be that my computer is getting too outdated, or iMovie is just the worst. But here she is!
Context: when it was snowing (the prior evening), it was legit to drive slow. But when there are lanes and traction - why?!
Thank you so much; that is one of the most complementary things anyone has said to me! 🤲
How does one do that?
Whelp. You inspired me to record a silly song I just wrote. But I don't know how to post an audio recording here. Can you help me out?
No, you don't sound like that at all - your voice isn't nearly nasal enough to sound that nerdy, and your accent sounds tough!
The delivery could be improved, but I'm afraid I don't have specific feedback. I could, if I read through it and listened to a few more times. Thank you for sharing it!
