@england.nhs.uk How is a child of 16 supposed to get a flu vaccination? We have all been urged to get one (www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...) but our GP practice says he isn't eligible, his post-16 college doesn't offer one and our local pharmacies are unable to vaccinate a 16YO privately? Advice please

Such sad news...
Latest ITT statistics are somewhat positive, with most secondary subjects - especially shortage ones - recruiting better than last year. Primary down a smidge, English down due to bursary cut
But majority still likely to be below target (this is last year's targets: new actuals out next month)
Number 5 is everything!

Really helpful post from @greeborunner.bsky.social in @tesmagazine.bsky.social on supporting handwriting in secondary schools. An often overlooked area.

Now listening to Marc Rowland, talking about the impact of low income on children and their families at the @schoolsnortheast.bsky.social Curriculum Conference. Very interesting.
Now listening to David Didau keynote at the @schoolsnortheast.bsky.social Curriculum Conference, using some interesting optical illusions to highlight how our brains interpret information depends upon how we look at it - open-mindedness and curiosity help us to see things differently.
Good to hear Pete King reminding the @schoolsnortheast.bsky.social Curriculum Conference about selecting the most useful 'nuggets' from the day
It would have been interesting to see plans for implementation and risk assessment. I've seen one version from a local authority that was promoting one of these interventions in all its schools as a universal intervention for all pupils. Seems rather indiscriminate...
Interesting, if somewhat worrying, research about two universal mental health interventions in UK schools. I wonder how widely this has (or indeed is currently) being implemented...

...My hunch for the tiles is similar, something under the tiles in the middle is conducting thermal energy better than the corners and so they are melting more quickly from the warm ground underground.
Looking at the pattern on the table is interesting, there appears to be a melted 'cross', which I'm guessing is where the metal legs or support for the top sit...
