(7) tried to stop it. but now I’m just sitting over here having no idea when or if we are ever going to get another presidential candidate who is democratic/a leftist/ liberal, etc. 🫩

(6) the moment we found out they were being misused. but I knew that it was likely going to be a process to get our government to stop it. It wasn’t gonna happen overnight, it was gonna take potentially years to get it to stop. but I had hope that we would one day have a candidate who would’ve

(5) finds a way to extend his presidential term, and create even more power for himself and other dumbass conservatives who want to be president after him, then how are we ever going to be able to help the people over in Palestine? I want our country to stop giving them bombs. I wanted it to stop

(4) upsetting that people didn’t vote. Now we have Trump back in office and he has done so much damage. unless if he is impeached, we are going to have him for another 3 years. and he doesn’t want to leave office either. He wants to be a dictator and be president until the day he dies. if he somehow

(3) palestine. We all knew that. Would it have been perfect having her in office? Maybe not. But would it have given us a chance to get someone else in office after her term was over who maybe would have wanted to try to stop the bombings all together? I think it’s possible. that’s why I find it so

(2) it was either her, or Trump. I am willing to bet she would’ve tried to reduce how many bombs were dropped, or who knows maybe she would’ve found a way to end the bombing all together. Either way, she was the one who would’ve tried to help. but Trump didn’t give a shit about what happened over in

(1) everyone should have voted. Last I checked, 30% did not vote for our last presidential election. a lot of people chose not to vote because they said Kamala would have supported Israel. I don’t like what Israel has done. I never have. But she was the candidate who had the best shot at winning

I am so sick and tired of all these mass shootings that continue to happen all the time. 8 children were shot dead today. 2 were injured and survived. Absolutely horrible. There’s no reason for this to be happening so often here in the U.S.

(5) that would probably make them think twice before trying to hide anything. and the taxes my lord these mega churches should be taxed!

(4) and then I always have hope that I can change it. it totally sucks how complex all of these problems within society are. and yes, I do think that if a church knows abuse is happening and the leaders do nothing and try to cover it up, then legally they should have the church closed. I’m sure

(3) much, including me and my siblings. We weren’t sexually abused, but we sure got treated like shit for things we shouldn’t have. it’s always enraged me and I always think in general with any fucked up thing in the world “well I have the power to try to change it so I should”.

(2) it worries me because I figured the more churches grow, the more likely it is that abuse is going to happen by someone within these churches. my parents sent me to a religious school for 8 years when I was a kid and I saw so many fucked up things that happened and that school got away with so

(1) I appreciate your apology, it means a lot. I’m always trying to find solutions and think outside the box as to how to solve these atrocities within churches, especially with how fanatical people have gotten during this political climate and with how much they are able to get away with.

(1) yeah that is so true. and then the pastors will manipulate their victims by convincing them that what they did wasn’t abuse all so they can try to convince their victims to not say anything and then they can get away with the abuse. It’s so awful

(4) because everyone left when it happened the first time?

(3) another thing I have always worried about is that even if members do all of these things you listed to try to stop the abuse and the churches are held accountable for it, what if another person sexually assaults/abuses members in the future and no one is there to catch it and try to stop it

(2) and nothing changed. it seems like the police like these churches, especially since some of the police members are a part of these churches themselves, and I think that’s part of how churches get away with it because of bad cops :/

(1) yeah those are all definitely good ways to get the abuser out of the churches and hold the churches accountable. Those are things I meant to say in my post but I completely forgot to add that. I just think about all the churches who had people do all of those things to hold them accountable

(3) taught by churches :/

What I am wondering though is if staying to help protect and hold churches accountable isn’t the best way to go about it, then is there a better alternative to help protect kids who can’t leave because their parents are forcing them to stay and no one can convince the parents to leave?

(2) that be one of the factors in considering whether or not they want to stay and hold churches accountable. i also just thought about how members should be educated about how to notice red flags and to protect themselves from being in situations where they could be harmed, which i know is rarely

(1) Yeah you do have a good point that there could be more potential victims if people are encouraged to join and stay. That is something I’ll keep in mind and I’m glad you brought it up. I think it’s important for members to consider the potential risks of them being victims if they stay and have

I have heard so many stories of kids who are abused and it went on for years. and some of these kids tried to tell adults about it, but they were not believed and/or were dismissed. it’s terrible, and kids need adults who will listen to them, believe them, and help stop them from being further abused
