Going deeper than that I also fundamentally don't accept the common line between craftswork and art. A stonemason or dressmaker is as much an artist as a painter or writer. It's a capitalist commercialist lens (who is "practical" who is "artistic") and I reject it very firmly.

We still lost a lot of characters in memorable and gruesome ways, mind, but the *campaign* continued. I think I might have been the only one who finished it with the same character I started with, in fact...

There's 2 easy-ish ways to make Mage work long-term: be shit scared of creating Paradox or racking up any kind of heat (which is how we played it) or apply more modern GMing principles and make those catastrophes into interesting story beats instead of punishment (which is how I run it now).
