Hard sci-fi is like battle shonen but instead of the side character taking 2 entire pages to explain how Hero Protagonist can pull fireballs out of his ass, they take 2 entire pages to explain how quantum modems work and why this allows Hero Protagonist to pull an AI out of his ass
Back when I was into 40k I used to be for Undivided with the Word Bearers, but nowadays my favorite god is Tzeentch. Khorne's also fun, but I'm pretty tired of the stereotypical Chaos warrior/marine and Tzeentch seems to give the most wiggle room to go beyond that.

Deciding to finally share some of my recent #Battletech painting projects I am very happy with! In this case I have Stars for Clans Burrock, Ghost Bear, Smoke Jaguar and Star Adder.
Finished my Chaos Sorcerer Lord. Call them nerds all you want, but being Tzeentch-aligned means there's no limit to your color palette.

59.) Civil War
The background info for how the 2nd American civil war played out may run on moon logic, but otherwise this was a nice war drama, I liked it. The ending sequence in the White House felt weak, though.
58.) Maelstrom
The last Rifters book had some cyberpunk aspects but they were almost tertiary, this one dials them up so much you could argue the series switched subgenres. I'm impressed at how seamless that shift was, nicely done.
Caveat though is that the scifi also gets a *lot* harder.
