I found it to be a pretty tight puzzle when I played it. It's very thinky for a trick-taker, and I liked trying to predict everyone.

I don't think I'd play it again, but I'm glad I tried it.

Yeah, there are some games I love but I didn't feel like they were the best for any specific category.

Evolution and Quantum. Both are amazing designs but somewhat stressful to actually play.

To a lesser extent Millennium Blades and Sidereal Confluence. Simply because they're long and group dependant.

I considered giving best art style to Paradise Killer. I loved just wandering around the island.

Fun thought experiment. Tough choice for a few categories.

Doesn't it refer to a type of mortarless stonework?

Pieceful Place A daily puzzle game about building a harmonious city.

A friend just made this cute little daily polyomino game! It's browser based and doesn't take long to beat, so I highly recommend checking it out:

I think it's because some of the easiest adventures to make and run are dungeoncrawls and hexcrawls. Both of which feel like an odd fit for sci-fi.

Though it is a shame there aren't more sci-fi/cyberpunk adventures.

And I can finally announce my followup project with Tim Fowers - Driveable City!

In this 60 minute solo game you get to pave through local communities, meddle with local transit, and play with millions in grants from your government like funny money. Just how Robert Moses would have wanted it!

Yeah, the playtesting area in the basement was a bit... off the beaten path.

I went by WonderCon yesterday to check it out. They had a pretty big board game section (several, in fact) which was cool to see. I'm happy the hobby has been reaching out to more and more people.

Game designers with games that are out:

Where do you keep them? Do you put them on the shelf with other published games? Do you have a place just for games you've designed?

I've been trying to sort my collection and was wondering what other people do.

Eh, you don't spend money on buying animals, and all your laborers are just family members.

I think Agricola is just capitalist because it's about competition in a way that is not how medieval farmers lived.

I mean yeah. How many musketeers were in The Three Musketeers is my favorite trick question.

πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ 2. Multivictor pinata game. Codesign with @chris.eternalstudios.com. Players vote for A or B each round and receive various payouts depending on the vote's outcome. We just came up with the idea a few days ago so the game is still rough but I think it'll shape up to be a solid negotiation game.

I have no idea if he's looking for work, but I always loved how Logan Stahl's work on The Desert Moon of Karth felt very Moebius-inspired.

That's definitely what I've heard from other successful designers too.

I think it just doesn't get talked about much because it kind of breaks the illusion of meritocracy people have.

I'm not surprised, Walkable City is a great game. I really like how much discussion happens during it, it feels more social than a lot of co-ops. And building the network is very satisfying.

So yeah check it out if you haven't already.

My table at the start of Game Market Vegas.

I had a great time at Dice Tower West! I was able to hang out with a lot of people, and it was great playing games and chatting with old and new friends.

Game Market Vegas went well too. Sold most of my copies of Tricked Out and a bunch of my copies of Coupon Clipper.

The board game FΓΊ. A player board is in front with various snack tokens on it, with piles of decorations and money past that. To the right hand side are several red envelopes.

Got a chance to play FΓΊ a couple times this week. I like how it has positive player interaction, something that I think is disappointingly rare in board games.
