A bit posher than in my day.

Likely the 1940’s it was a really popular resort, I’ve seen quite a few cards featuring the pier.
Asolo😉
A May Queen is crowned but can we discover the location? There’s bunting featuring a Union Jack but no other clues. The building is really distinctive, does anyone recognise it I wonder? Mystery #postcard Monday
Yes, just to add to the confusion!
Pretty much the same, we are living by the sea in Devon which is lovely, trying to ignore world events as much as possible!
The whole thing becomes more confusing the longer you study it. I’m pretty convinced that this image has been reproduced on the card and is from an earlier date. It must have had some significance to justify making a card out of it I think.
Hello, how are you?
Mystery #postcard Monday is back with this no clues challenge. Can anyone work out where this might be? Strong northern vibes but why the grand gates and the awkward position surrounded by later buildings? School or chapel has been suggested but I’m really not sure.
Solved! Bethel Church, Union Street. Miraculous!
Happy new year from the emporium! Probably impossible unless someone is familiar with the scene or another image exists. Foundation stone laying, the vicar is present so a chapel maybe. Is it #Cannock there’s a factory chimney, brickworks? No much to go on here. Mystery #postcard Monday.
Over on X the best guess is that it might be the Boston international postcard exchange but no hard evidence of its actual existence yet!
Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything like it. Definitely several possibilities here, could even be unrelated to postcards or the university. A lot of UK advertising postcards have an image unconnected with the business🤔
I agree. A bit of a strange mix, apart from the belt nobody else seems to have any uniform. Quite a range of ages too and why is the bloke on the right holding what appears to be a a towel🤷🏻♂️
Today’s mystery #postcard has a military feel. The general consensus seems to be that the medals and belt probably relate to the Boer War, but what are these chaps up to? Something is written on the armbands that I can’t quite read.
I’ve searched the database of sundials but no matches in Suffolk. Its pretty exhaustive so I’m wondering if this is a random card with no local connection🤔
Pretty certain that will be her! I had a pile of cards from this family but she wasn’t mentioned on any of the others unfortunately.
There’s certainly a lot going on!
Well here is the so far unsolved challenge for mystery postcard Monday. We think the postmark is Stutton, 17 miles from Woodbridge. Strange architecture and a wall sundial. Is the conservatory actually a WW1 auxiliary hospital ward, experts say it’s similar🤔
Happy Easter! I cant believe you managed to locate this one, so many people tried and I spent hours trawling on the image search🙄 Thank you so much!
Still confounding the #postcard detectives this meeting room and billiard hall. Temperance hall is ruled out via the adverts for Bass beers. Northern industrial town vibes but can anyone identify the location?
Currently foxing the #postcard detectives over on X, is anyone familiar with this distinctive church? The castellated tower is unusual in its simplicity, as ever no clues on the back.
Solved! Weston nr Bath
Mystery #postcard Monday Bluesky edition. Some clues today but are they enough to nail the location? Someone has scribbled Kent on the back, is there any truth in this I wonder? A more difficult challenge awaits over on X for anyone who fancies it!
Instinct is everything with these images, even without a clue sometimes they just just have to be in a particular spot.
This one?
I solved a few yesterday using that technique but still have a pile for future challenges!
Solved, Hunmanby, Yorks. A great spot from Andy
Gold star for this one I think🎉
Wow, certainly looks like it! Thought this might be tough as so many similar towers, I looked a a few hundred and couldn’t find it!
