Is this an American company and are you in the EU? I've sometimes had the impression that US companies can struggle to understand what we mean when we say "invoice" 😄

Thanks! I thought I'd make some cards for the occasion and I always love having something haptic 😇
Oh, but interesting that they are running at all! Are those Renfe trains? My connections tomorrow and on Sunday with Ouigo and Iryo were completely cancelled.
*= with a flight segment from Madrid to Málaga because the rail tracks there have still not been reopened after the accident in January and so my trains were cancelled for that section.

Crossing three countries by train* to get to #ElixirConf EU in Málaga! 2700km in 2 days 🚄🌱

In an unexpected turn of events, I was able to speak to an actual human in their live chat - and they created the page for me. 😮
This is a dark pattern if ever I've seen one. If you try to create a business page on LinkedIn, they force you to download their app and then want you to send a picture of your ID card to a Peter Thiel-backed verification service.
This is not mentioned anywhere in their docs, btw.
Thanks for sharing that, I think I'll have to give it a try one of these days!
Today I'm happy to announce v0.19.1 of Keila, the Open Source email newsletter tool. This version adds an Italian translation, support for authless SMTP, image resizing, editor performance improvements and many fixes. github.com/pentacent/ke...
Check it out at keila.io 🚀 #buildinpublic #opensource
If you can't make it, you can also participate online: www.elixirconf.eu
Most talks will also be published on YouTube later on.
Excited to be hosting a track at ElixirConf EU in Málaga next week. The Elixir community is always so lovely and I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again 😊 Plus there are going to be some exciting talks in my track!

Does ist have any advantages over Expert or is just just *also* good?
I just used zizmor to improve the security of our GitHub actions pipeline: github.com/pentacent/ke...
Thanks to Michael from @paraxialio.bsky.social for the tip in the most recent @thinkingelixir.com episode! #myelixirstatus
Curious to hear about other people's experience with proof-of-work captchas in this "Ask HN" post: What's your experience with PoW captchas against form spam?
news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4773... #buildinpublic #saas #spam #opensource
Yes, absolutely!
Hey #buildinpublic + #saas people, what's your experience with "$your_product vs $competitor" kind of articles?
I've just published my first one here: www.keila.io/open-source-...
I am not sure and this is the first time I've seen something like that in our repo. But the guy who created the PR has apparently contributed to a *ton* of other projects recently.
This was the PR in question: github.com/pentacent/ke...
Interestingly, it also ignored the very specific guidance I had given in the original issue.
Please don't waste the time of Open Source maintainers with AI slop.
A user had suggested a new feature and after discussing it with me, created a PR. Almost at the same time, someone created some sort of slop drive-by PR for the same thing. 😵💫
Why do people do this?

Here is a price comparison (data from April 10 2026) between Keila and Mailchimp Standard for someone who sends one newsletter per month: Emails/month Keila Mailchimp Savings with Keila 100 8€ €18 55% 1,000 8€ €40 80% 2,000 8€ €53 85% 5,000 16€ €87 82% 10,000 32€ €118 73% 50,000 64€ €391 84%
I'm currently writing a comparison post between Keila and Mailchimp and it's kinda shocking how expensive they are ... or is Keila just too cheap? #buildinpublic #saas #emailmarketing #dev #pricing
Speed is such an important differentiator for small companies. Two hours ago, a user reported a rendering bug that occurred in some email clients. The fix is already online now.
This could not have happened in a big org 🚀

Popup that reads: " We'd like to store a cookie to remember how you found our website. This helps us understand how visitors find out about Keila. Privacy policy". Reply options: No - Okay
I'm trying to get a better understanding where Keila users are coming from. So I'm adding the dreaded cookie pop-up to the website. I hope this is transparent and doesn't bother visitors too much. #buildinpublic #gdpr #privacy
I was talked into creating a LinkedIn account. Really not loving it so far. ("One minute a day increases your attention and concentration - notify me so I can try LinkedIn Mind Games") 😱
The website is back online, deployed with @caddy.bsky.social for the first time (because I didn't feel like setting up certbot on a holiday 😅)
So I think I'll set up an instance of Uptime Kuma instead and redirect my previous payments for UptimeRobot to support this OpenSource project. #floss
Screenshot from the UptimeRobot status page admin panel, saying announcements can only be created on Team and Enterprise plans.
I've been a paying user of UptimeRobot for many years, but since their latest pricing increase it's no longer possible to post updates to the status page if you're not paying $45/month - which seems a bit excessive to me.
There's currently a disruption for the Keila Website. The Keila app is not affected.
Yeah, that's wild! But they seem to have their own referrer server that all outbound links go through.
