The DC chapter of the Sierra Club is out with its first report card grading the council: top scorers include Nadeau, Allen, JLG, R. White. It ranked McDuffie last.
And, probably no surprise, the group's PAC is out with a new website attacking his record:

Why is @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social so rattled by allegations he’s in the pocket of big money interests?
Perhaps because the donations—and the legislative record—show it’s true

At today’s @electrifydc.bsky.social #HealthyHomesFair, the candidate cook-off was a lot of fun! Congrats to winner @lisaraymondfordc.bsky.social. It was great to see two Sierra Club endorsed candidates, @janeese4dc.bsky.social and @cmcharlesallen.bsky.social, too.
New: Who knew an issue as dry and complex as utility policy would dominate DC politics this year?
But with gas/electric bills skyrocketing and "affordability" the word of the day, candidates are talking about it more than ever. I looked at how it's reshaping DC races:
wamu.org/story/26/03/...
And McDuffie removed a key affordability provision from the 2018 clean energy bill he now takes credit for. He took it out at Pepco’s request. In Massachusetts, a similar provision was estimated to save ratepayers $682 million.

McDuffie’s claims here are beyond misleading. Janeese voted against the solar bill because it would increase subsidies for those who already have solar on their roofs, raising utility bills. It’s another example of Janeese fighting for lower bills while McDuffie wanted to raise them!
And it was referred to his committee for comments, which I think you've already acknowledged. What you haven't acknowledged (much less explained) is your own mistakes. If the Sierra Club making a mistake is misleading, are you misleading when you tweet things that aren't true?
We all make mistakes. The question is whether we acknowledge and correct our mistakes when we discover them.
I could label your now-deleted posts “misleading” but I think they were honest mistakes on your part, just like I made an honest mistake that I immediately corrected after realizing the error (and before your problematic tweets). I'm disappointed you accused the Sierra Club of being misleading.
Thank you for deleting your Tweets and Bluesky posts that I pointed out to you contained inaccurate statements, such as your false claim there was “no way” McDuffie could act on a bill referred to his committee for comment.
Kenyan McDuffie delivered us all higher Pepco bills.
A new @markrodeffer.bsky.social piece in
@51st.news explains the details.
"Kenyan McDuffie could have scrutinized utility rate hikes and defended struggling ratepayers. Instead, he sided with utilities. Now D.C. families are paying the price."
I think this is a GREAT idea, @cmchenderson.bsky.social! If anything, 15% is too low. What do we need to do to get your legislation passed?
Tracy, of course, I remember meeting you through GGWash (which endorsed Janeese)!
Interesting that McD is so multimodal he skips a forum on biking, walking & buses and doesn't offer an explanation to the organizers. Apparently multiple people reached out and got no response from Mr. Multimodal.
Why did “Multimodal” McDuffie skip today’s Bike, Walk & Bus PAC campaign forum?
@janeese4dc.bsky.social was there. But the organizers told me “Multimodal” McDuffie ignored multiple invitations to the forum.
Bowser is also proposing another hobby horse of hers: Reversing the energy efficiency standards for buildings, a huge source of emissions in the city.
She's tried to do this several times before. Ironic, because it was part of a clean energy bill that she championed...
