With so much AI-generated imagery about, being a self-employed illustrator can feel a bit daunting.

nah end of last season. turns out he was right!
that's united v liverpool, but ok
it's so clear to me that he more than anyone was paralysed by anxiety under amorim (hardly surprising imo given amorim's demeanour/public comments) and we're now seeing him play with freedom thanks to whatever carrick and his team are doing
carrick achieving in one game what amorim couldn't in all his time at united - a full 90-minute performance
i know man. the greatest catfish in history
certainly not my experience in birmingham
i don't mean to be contrary, but this is simply not true
it's not difficult or complex in theory and it's certainly true that there hasn't even been the will from others to stand up to it, but having the composure and clarity of thought to respond articulately in the moment is definitely not easy and actually a relatively rare skill imo
the maddening thing is knowing that he's smart enough that once he's been sacked and the fog has lifted he'll know exactly what he did wrong

wiener could easily have won in 2013 had he not been caught doing it again/kept on doing it. scandals are definitely not nothing, but they can certainly be overcome by the power of charisma or simply being a really effective speaker (perhaps esp when combined with the comeback narrative)
absolutely!
similarly unsure, although i can't help feeling that if you don't fancy/can't get a tune out of kobbie then you're probably not the messiah
she got her lawyers to do that for her and buzzfeed were forced to buy the copyright so she did ok out of it in the end. actually an interesting case study for the widespread use of a social media image without permission. the person whose phone salah used could easily make a few quid too
yes she did
my son's not old enough yet to take to see united but i really hope one day we get a moment like this together
cheers europa league dad's crying
yeh absolutely, it's all just a hunch. no data points for confidence/vibes (although imo it's difficult not to conclude those intangibles aren't key factors in the relative struggles of say hojlund and garnacho, just by process of elimination)
also, and i know it's a variable impossible to quantify, but increasingly feel what united need above anything rn is characters less susceptible to the vicissitudes of fan contempt (online and match-going) and who are likely to improve the team dynamics. maybe wrong, but not confident that's cunha
more united imo. used to be the best before they stopped using actual chocolate (fergie)
surely this from amorim today suggests it's not happening (at least not with his blessing)
absolutely. pretty quick when he got going too. no question he'd also thrive in modern football
i think it's almost certainly true that if given a choice of one of the two in their prime, most current teams would opt for henry
yeh that makes sense. henry certainly foreshadowed the growing prominence of athleticism, which isn't to denigrate his technique or football intelligence of course. I'd say a comparison with parallels in some ways as a utd fan is ronaldo and eric
fascinated to see arguments for henry. suspect age might be a big factor in shaping perspectives. zidane was other worldly in a way henry wasn't imo and as reductive as it might seem, i think doing it in the big moments is the clincher - which the 2002 goal vs leverkusen encapsulates perfectly
as always, it really depends on your definition of great but I can't think of one under which that view really makes sense
it's an upsetting prospect but I'm hopeful it'll be ok and this is just the trauma speaking
