Saw LAFC beat San Jose's man to man press once or twice with rotations, mostly driven by Son
Will be looking out to see if MLS coaches and players will be able to emulate Arsenal and Bayern's rotations as man to man becomes more prevalent
If they do, somebody show this article to Bruce Arena

Favorite moment of the weekend was John Thorrington striking an ultimate villain pose from the stadium rafters and the cameraman hitting the slow zoom
like what the hell is he doing up there lmao
Feel like I'm always watching reasons why managers are geniuses because they did so and so, super interesting to be able to see something tried and failed!
This week's Did You Notice video is all about how Chelsea tried to stop Nico O'Reilly but in the end it didn't work...
I don't think I've ever seen so many red cards in any league as I have in this season of MLS. Most of them aren't even bad calls either. What on earth is going on lmao
Has to be Berhalter's tackle to goal
This is incredible from Sebastian Berhalter.
Deep in second-half stoppage time, makes a crunching tackle to end a dangerous Portland counter and win back possession. 25 seconds later he finishes it off at the other end with a banger of a game-winner.
How do you leave a guy at the back post so open that he can be mid conversation with the subs and still score with no challenge 😭
Also they talk about not wanting to "re-referee" the game. That VAR official is not trying to help the main ref come up with a decision he's trying to force him to go with what he's saying
"Let's put ourselves in a pressing trap for them!"
International breaks make me feel like I haven't left the house in two months. Even if I watch all the games I just can't force myself to get attached to international football outside of the major tournaments.
Spain’s Lamine Yamal says those who sang anti-Muslim chants during his side’s home friendly against Egypt are “ignorant and racist”.

Love the new week in football format! Reminds more like the old Tifo IRL vids where'd you'd go deep into something I probably wasn't paying attention to.
I do also like the more summary episodes of generally what's been going on too so maybe having those every couple months could still be good
With all the older big stars it's so interesting to see who succeeds and who fails. It's really hard to tell until they actually get here!
🟣🇫🇷 Orlando City has officially signed forward Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, with the World Cup winner joining in July.
Ricardo Moreria: “Antoine is a complete footballer—creative, intelligent, clinical—and he is a proven winner on the biggest stages of the game.”
Was really impressed at how Dallas disrupted Houston's plan to build out on the ground through the central areas. Think Dallas could be really successful getting the ball up with direct play, holding it with Farrington and Musa, and a high press to force the ball back and reset
He's so so good. Don't care if it wasnt on purpose haha he's incredible
Legendary Minnesota United rant at 28 minutes in this one. Probably got a little too into it...

So as an Orlando fan you agree with the decision? Can't say I've paid close attention to Orlando's business. Do you think there also needs to be change up top or will a coaching change fix a lot?
No Tagseth is interesting, feel like he's so important to their defense
Curious how Surridge will handle Falcon, because he got super rattled and off his game last time, hope to see the best from him!
Insanely early wow. They've looked terrible but can't say the recruitment has been good
Pretty crazy how important the blockade of a trade route is right now
Best data viz in the game!!
Screenshot of dashboard: "How your team scores: MLS xg data" various stat breakdowns and pitch graphic with shots shown as dots below
It took me a sec, but the xG dashboard is back for 2026!
For those who weren't here last season, the dashboard uses @jamonm.bsky.social & @carloncarpenter.bsky.social's WGCF principles to break down MLS shots.
Built using @americansocceranalysis.com data.

The New York Red Bulls have been the story of the season so far, a new look team under Michael Bradley using teenagers and an exciting brand of soccer to win their first two games, only to be smacked 3 nothing by Montreal of all teams.
So how did Montreal beat them?
This is much better from Tagseth and Yazbek. In the first couple games I felt like they weren't opening up their bodies enough to progress the ball effectively through the middle but now looks great.
Head ups, receiving in an open position, using the space they're getting in the middle, perfect!
Really impressed with Colorados press tonight. Obviously easier with Galaxy at 10 men, but even losing the ball playing out of the back they've managed to limit LA's chances. Goal conceded only came off a set piece
Been loving how much license to go forward Yazbek has been getting this season!
That's fair. I think long term it'll end up being a good logistical decision but definitely missed a chance for big immediate success, especially with the sprint season coming up so I get the frustration
