The weather forecast is good, Belper is lovely and there's a book fair on!
That's three good reasons to come to the Dormouse Books Belper Book Fair at the Market Place on Sunday (11am-4pm).
I'll be there, too - but don't let that put you off! Come to meet all the other lovely authors!

Disregard the picture of the handsome young brute. This is not about me.
It's an article in today's Derby Telegraph about the forthcoming Derby Book Festival project with the Society of Authors to organise talks by writers in Derbyshire Libraries.

Good point. I am partial to a bit of a prologue.
Best not to start every time with one, though, don't you think?

It has to start somewhere.
What do you reckon? A tad predictable, perhaps? Intriguing, maybe?
Here we go anyway.

I seem to have reached the stage in my #bluesky life where most of the new contacts I'm making are from people trying to sell me book marketing services.
I'd much prefer to meet more readers and authors. Lots more.

I’d love to be included please.

I feel your pain. I think you’re simply more organised than I am. I group novels together by author but have never felt the urge to do an alphabetical reordering. I just know where I put them.

It has to be genre.
Can you imagine the chaos in a bookshop if everything was arranged alphabetically by author, whatever the genre?

Nothing says you love someone more than the gift of a personally signed crime thriller novel.
Thankfully, help finding that perfect present is at hand.
Join me at the Derby Book and Craft Fair this Saturday from 10.30-4 at the Museum of Making.
I have the very thing. #bookgifts #giftideas #bookfair

Aren't they all? Just asking.

How wonderful it is to connect with so many who share a love of books on a platform uncluttered by Musk propaganda.
Can anyone point me towards any more of the great starter packs out there? Let's get the conversation buzzing!

Ok, so what do we do now?
This is my launch post and I'm keen to connect with fellow authors, bloggers and book lovers everywhere.
I have so far published five crime thrillers, all set in the city of my birth, Sheffield. That's kind of become my thing.
Let's connect...
