As someone who wears a Santa hat all through December, was in NYC during SantaCon, and saw many restaurants with “No Santas Allowed” signs, I feel like I have a claim.
Also if I may interest you in the one board in the middle of my deck that I screwed up one joist in one place and caused the board to be 1/8” proud of every other board. Drives me crazy literally every day.
Ha! I’m guessing “b”
It. Is. Glorious. Rochester centric food. Base layer of carbs like tots, then a protein like hamburger or sausage, topped with “hot sauce” (chili without beans basically) and onions and mustard. It’s incredible but very local to that area.
Black tshirt with graphic from RSA patent.
Anyone remember this shirt?
It. Was. Glorious.
FYI, I’ll be streaming on Twitch today (https://www.twitch.tv/turngate at 3pm EST talking about AI *gasp* in GRC and SecOps with my buddy David. We had a really good zoom conversation last week on the topic and decided to turn it into a chat on Twitch/LI. Join us if you can :)
For the love of all that is holy, could product companies please put the name of their product somewhere obvious on the product. I assure you I didn’t know the name of the vacuum the day I bought it, let alone 2 years later when I’m trying to buy parts.
Omg…
I wrote up a piece on threat hunting in GitHub for those that do that kind of thing. Feedback is welcome support.turngate.io/detections-a...
I don’t post here much, and posting LinkedIn links is always an adventure. But if you’re interested I’ll be doing some GitHub threat hunting this afternoon at 3pm EST. Join us if you like www.linkedin.com/posts/turngate_threat-hu...
This isn't mine, and I can't definitively find the original source. But I love this little bit of wisdom:
"If you're a fifteen-minute walk from a coffee shop, but the server there has to drive an hour to get to work, you don't live in a walkable city. You live in a theme park."
Stay safe and I hope the rest of the day is uneventful.
When I toured Cornell looking at schools as a kid, I passed Sagan’s office. All the other faculty had name plates you could slide in and out on the door, but Sagan’s was screwed in. I asked why.
Apparently the name plate was stolen so often he had a box of spares. And then they “fixed” it for good
That was my first thought as well…
Well shit

It’s almost time to say farewell to the MetroCard and to 2025. But where do you go when the swipes go out? Tap and ride on your way to the Garden for Phish’s annual NYE run and listen up for Trey’s announcements in the subway system on your way there!
What, and I can’t overstate this, the fuck.
Just saw the traveling show in Baltimore. Lots of fun
I think Google has turned over their NFL score widget to Gemini. There is a LOT going on here…
For the love of all that is holy, how do people use Windows as a daily OS. Every time I open a Windows laptop I want to jettison it into space (and no, I’m not updating a fleet of Surfaces right now)
And the graph, for a giggle:
Have they straightened the giant screw heads in the ceiling yet?
This is a total stab in the dark for my #phillies fan friends out there.
Ages ago (15+ years) the Phils sold this Phanatic ornament. My brother and his family had one they loved, but lost along with everything else in the CA fires last year. I can't find one anywhere online.
Anyone have any leads?
We left the state 20 years ago and we still order Kaladi beans :)

Well yeah. Don’t keep an open bowl of super glue in the fridge
