Conversion "therapy" scams tear Michiganders apart, and the evidence put forward by both research and survivor testimony links this practice to increased rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide attempts.

On Tuesday, March 31st, the SCOTUS issued a decision that undermined critical protections for youths against "conversion therapy."

This includes Michigan.

Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by at Northern Michigan University's Gender Fair! This annual event is always a creates a positive environment and promotes awareness regarding gender and sexuality in the Marquette community.

We all want kids to be happy and healthy. Just like any other family, the family of a transgender young person should have the freedom to work with doctors to ensure that their child can receive the care they need.

We are grateful to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel for challenging this declaration. Gender affirming care in Michigan continues to be safe, legal, and essential.

It, and other federal attacks on transgender healthcare access, resulted in clinics in Michigan (and across the country) ending care for youth.

Equality Win! A U.S. judge has blocked the "declaration" from Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. denouncing gender-affirming care for youth. The declaration was used to threaten the removal of Medicare and Medicaid funding from hospitals that offer gender-affirming care to youth under 19.

Since ELCRA was first passed nearly 50 years ago, generations of activists have worked endlessly to ensure that those protections were expanded to include our community. The expansion of ELCRA ensured that you could not be fired or evicted for who you are, how you identify, or whom you love.

Three years ago this week, protections for LGBTQ+ Michiganders were codified through an amendment to Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act (ELCRA).
