After a busy March, I've finally gotten round to writing up my highlights from State of the Browser #SotB26

A few talks that stuck with me covering accessibility, personal growth, and the messy reality of time on the web.

Living in the inflection point I'm scared, I'm excited, and I'm exhausted by the pace of change. All of those things can be true at the same time. This blog post is a (hopefully) grounded take on living through AI's inflection poin...

There's lots of takes on AI to say the least. None of them have really resonated with me - until this one. The differentiator is the human stuff.

Mike Hall presenting a slide on PNG optimisation techniques

Thankfully never needed to be quite as stingy with file sizes as Mike Hall had to be to support Opera Mini users. But we both share a hatred of cruft in generated SVGs 😬 #SotB26

Jason Williams up giving us a brief history of time with Temporal. Having been bitten by Date bugs many, many times, it cannot come quick enough! #SotB26

Zach Leatherman giving us a history lesson on how serving content has changed over the years. It’s so easy to serve bad experiences these days 😬 but all hope is not lost! #SotB26

Chad Gowler talking to us about how we can do better at accessibility compliance, through the lens of video game development. We are way behind in areas like user research and customisation #SotB26

Fiona gave a great talk about thriving as an introvert. Always in need of a constant reminder to control what you can and give yourself the best chance of success #SotB26

Bramus standing in front of a slide from his talk that says “But what about the little triangle?”

Bramus kicked us off with a dive into CSS anchor positioning. Any time I drop into this spec I learn something new about it. I had no idea you could animate them! #SotB26

Model behaviour: AI coaching after the 10K After training for my first 10K guided solely by AI not only did I complete it but I also raced in another just two weeks later. Here's how it all unfolded.

Back in January, I set myself a challenge: let an AI train me to be a better runner.

Naturally, it spiralled into a weird experiment involving model prompts, questionable encouragement, and some surprising results.

Using AI as a 10K Training Coach | Matt Crouch's Blog

Why would I use a human personal trainer when I could use an AI that's never ran anywhere in its life?

In my latest blog post, I put different AI models to the test as they attempt to transform me into a 10K runner 🏃‍♂️

Never really sure if the Hootenanny stars people I should know or not.

I feel like Jools Holland could introduce Mary Shelly and the Quims and I’d just go along with it.

This is a friendly reminder to enable the setting that forces you to supply an alt text when you attach an image.

Lets all do our bit to make this place as accessible as possible! 🙂
