The only reason I care at all is because it's easier to put away your luggage and settle in when the plane is less full. Plus, there are some who take up more than a fair share of overhead storage space, and if you're on too late, you have to put your stuff way too far away.

To be fair, many in recovery are fine. I know dozens of people in recovery and they're all smart, responsible, educated people who would be perfectly capable in any position for which they are qualified. His recovery is not the problem, his lack of qualifications is.

Man, as a child I recorded his show every Sunday. For a 7 year old, it was so bizarre and fun - probably contributed to my becoming a musician.
