Fairly Steady? I wrote this about Hautacam: :-)

"If you like steady gradients to get a rythym, then you will hate Hautacam. Every time there is an easy stretch it means a 10%, 11%, or steeper stretch is imminent. I started laughing after this pattern repeated itself several times. Hard work."

Paris bike lane improvements is so noticeable. Wonderful place to bike as a tourist. And last time we visited there were lots of parks/routes with extra car/free roads as a Sunday -- Assume still like that

Excellent. I have visited Col de Rousset, and I agree, the Vercors is truly fabulous. Combe Laval might be my favourite climb.

I like Goldfinger as it features Furkapass one of the highest roads in Switzerland.

If you ever get the chance, it's a very fun game to play with friends. Only played twice and I was TERRIBLE but had much fun (and a beer or two).

I am very proud of you. I was followed by this guy. Then met Bram at the finish (he finished many hours before me and had already showered and changed) :-)

You did the Maratona? Fantastic! I did it twice many years ago. Paradise.

3/ The paved road ends. But don't stop. When I visited my wife drove & we began an amazing hike around the three peaks. It looks like fabulous mountain biking but there are signs forbidding bikes. Still, the hiking is magical.

2/ The route starts by climbing to Passo Tre Croci (Three Crosses) onto the beautiful Lago di Misurina.

Just after the lake, the route turns right onto a smaller, super fun, dead-end road. There is a toll booth here to limit the number of cars at the summit/Rifugio.

1/ The Winter Olympics is in Cortina d'Ampezzo. This beautiful Dolomite town is surrounded by lots of superb alpine cycling. The greatest adventure? A 15 km climb from Cortina to the Rifugio Auronzo (2333m) beside/below the beautiful Tre Cime (three peaks) di Lavaredo mountain peaks.
