NEW: Guards have taken away crayons, colored pencils & paper during recent room searches at Dilley, according to detainees and others. After one inspection, the children just “cried and cried and cried,” a mother said. The facility denies the claims.

After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

When the SPD got done teargassing and assaulting Seattle during the George Floyd protests, they got 19K complaints of police violence, which resulted in just 143 investigations and only 25 wrist-slap disciplinary actions. Our entire accountability structure failed. BUT (1/2)

Right now, Bob Ferguson oversees direct intelligence sharing through the Washington State Fusion Center with at least 245 DHS agents, including ICE & CBP.

That Fusion Center is located within the FBI Field Office in Seattle which shares a zero lot line with an NSA peering spying hub.

I’ve never heard of a “law enforcement” agency putting an officer who just killed someone back on the street under 24 hours. And that’s because all shootings are treated as homicides pending investigation. This is as clear a sign as you’ll get that DHS personnel enjoy practical immunity from murder.

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

The right-wing bullshit machine is operating at full steam & across all cylinders today, strategically framing the horrific ICE killing of a MN woman to defend/bolster their political aims. For exampe, Trump's message (below) will shape how his supporters (willfully mis)interpret the video evidence.

I think it would be great if Sound Transit could figure out how to manage planned service disruptions that don't degrade service on every single segment of their light rail network.

Local police investigating ICE after video appears to show agent drive over detained man’s foot The incident in Vancouver, Washington caused the 27-year-old man to scream in agony.

ICE should not be free to inflict this kind of pain and suffering on innocent immigrants. This doesn’t make anyone safer.

Republicans must join Democrats in calling for oversight, accountability, and serious restraint.
