Beautiful tribute. Evoked wonderful memories of Alex, ruddy faced in goal, ready to give his all. He did and the rest is history ❤️

We know we’re not in the best form at this point, but from the North Bank this wasn’t ‘anxiety ridden and claustrophobic’ - that’s your narrative. It was better than Saturday which was required. If Liverpool made it to the semi final in that fashion you would no doubt call it ‘professional’
If we are using this interlull to take a mental break from The Arsenal, a vital non-Arsenal related question is which football/sports TV programme theme tune do you consider to be the banger of all bangers? Eg Grandstand? Sportsnight? Or something more down with the kids?
Probably accepting the answer won’t be ‘The FA Cup’ if we could only win one trophy this season, which would you choose? Premier League or Champions League?
As a former keeper I’ve never understood why this rotation happens. If you have the best player in the world in literally any other position they start any final. And it’s such a specialist position and dictates everything defensively and offensively it’s so weird.

This fella is the manager that the media try to portray Arteta as. Odd man.
If one of the songs doesn’t start ‘hello darkness my old friend’ I’ll be disappointed
My memory of this includes TA taking a pen or FK and smashing it miles over into the Clock End. Not mentioned in the report so that’ll be another thing to perhaps chalk down to one or two pints before the game
Fair enough. With all that being said I do still think we’ll win the league despite the CF…….and other things!
Too late for me to go on! I always enjoy reading your articles Miguel and good to have the debate. Take care.
100%. The plan was clearly not to play Viktor every game from the off knowing that Jesus was also out. We’ve massively missed Kai but oh now we should have signed a unicorn in the summer
I do disagree because the CF is not the only factor and there’s still no answer to who this ‘killer’ was that would do so much better this season, which is after all what we are debating - not last season or next season - but now
They WERE better yes. So we could have signed Isak and he suffered the same issues he has this season and then there’d be those moaning that we signed him and not someone else. It’s a no win situation.
We’re 4pts clear in spite of a number of factors, including a number of injuries to key players throughout the season and also key players being below par all of which we’ve dealt with. It’s disingenuous to say it’s in spite of the CF in my opinion
But the numbers don’t back that argument up. None of Isak, Ekitike or Sesko are markedly ‘better’ this season that Viktor. And we are talking this season. The club invested where needed and you can’t underestimate the impact that Kai’s injury issues have had. Yet here we are still 4pts clear
We needed cover for Saka and signed Noni. We craved a striker and signed Viktor (whose numbers are on par this season with Ekitkie) but we also didn’t expect Kai to be seriously injured. Really not sure which ‘killer’ we were expected to sign in the summer that was realistically available
Hold me Tight?
Think it was Everton 1-0. Unusually I went posh for that game and had a seat in the West Stand for some reason. And a Silk Cut obviously
My benchmark will always be 90/91 when one particular narrow home win saw me take up smoking (long since packed in). And of course we only lost 1 game that season
