“filth” is an absolute face-spitter of a word
Greatest. Correction. Ever.

A graphic with the 2026 Sports Emmys logo. It's titled "Outstanding Sports Journalism." The nominees are "Aspiration" by Pablo Torre Finds Out (Meadowlark Media), "Kobe: The Making of a Legend" (CNN Originals), "Save: The Katie Meyer Story" by E60 (ESPN), and "What Is Riley Gaines Hiding?" by Pablo Torre Finds Out (Meadowlark Media). The show airs live May 26th at 7 p.m. ET at watch.theemmys.tv and The Emmys apps.
Holy cow my investigation into Riley Gaines for @pablo.show was nominated for an Emmy in Outstanding Sports Journalism!!! Cannot stop dancing around my apartment. Here's the show if you missed it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKUl...
Your larger (correct) point aside, it’s not necessary from a grammatical
POV to say “appeared to”: “tells a different story” is telling a different story. You’re not committing as an editor to the veracity of the story, just correctly indicating a different story is being told!
Anyway, I'd've just gone with "shitcanning."
The dictionary woke up this morning and chose violence.
I’m so sorry, Matt. My husband just got a job two years after his layoff. It was rough. The only thing that kept us from losing our home was a small inheritance from his parents, who both died in 2023 (bad few years). It’s depressing that that’s what kept us afloat. Sending all good vibes your way 🙏
Have followed Matt for years, he’s good folks and has been a big part of my TV/movie-watching experience over time.
Still haven’t seen the episode (DVR’d it for this weekend), but now…maybe Love Is Blind instead? 😬
Shout out to George Orwell, who…did not say that
The arm “WAS BROKEN.”
No, @reuters.com. The guards & a US Senator broke it.
Passive voice disguises media bias.
missed this incredible journalism news: @liberalcurrents.com reached their $500k fundraising goal!! that means full time staff, further building out the site, and funding for good people doing important work without billionaires. hell yea.
Hard disagree: A story like this is read by a ton of people who aren't extremely online and haven't retained a single byline in their lives.
If a publication that otherwise does reporting is gonna publish something like this, it needs a disclaimer up top making clear that it's fiction, full stop.
Also, I don't die on hills, but with my last breath I will insist that Ingrid Bergman in Gaslight is gaslighted, not gaslit.
We have words for reasons.
Journalism 101
I shall live in shame, then
George Saunders is rubbing his hands together gleefully: “The gig is mine!”
Pass? 😬

you should not share a post that's a screenshot without a link to a news item. you should not share a post that's a video or picture without some kind of sourcing. we're in a new bad era and these are now basic practices.
... also photogs and journos gotta eat so share their work.
At any rate, they got some interesting pics
Ah, this is why I couldn’t remember it, it was the Daily Mail, but still 🙄 www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...
Some outlet interviewed his sister (can’t remember which one at the moment)
In the video from the person in the pink coat that @alexip718.com obtained, it appears to me that a registered nurse who worked with veterans was executed by ICE simply because he helped another protestor they physically assaulted.
this is just to say
I have eaten
