Finding a needle in a haystack is often easier than spotting a long-eared owl in the wild. This bird stayed perched high up in the evergreens as the first signs of spring started to appear on the forest floor below.
What species do you hope to spot on the trails this Spring?

March Break ECO Camp was a hit! Kids hiked to see Elinor the Eagle, met Top Hat, did skull ID and met snakes. Thanks to Let’s Talk Science UWaterloo, Janet Ozaruk, Molly Chen, Make it Sow Inc and Preston Knights of Columbus for the workshops, greenhouses and funding that made it all possible.
Winter is finally losing its grip on the landscape. Like us humans, the coyotes are navigating the last of the deep snow as the ground begins to thaw and the fresh spring growth shows through.
What are you looking forward to doing with the warmer weather, hopefully coming soon?

Happy Family Day!
On branches, on hooves and on hiking boots; families are part of every landscape. Today, we honour the many shapes 'family' can take and the importance of protecting the places where those connections grow.
Love isn’t one-size-fits-all. It blooms in many colours, seasons and spaces. Wishing you a Valentine’s Day filled with a "Flicker-ing" kind of love that feels rooted, wild and true.
