This sounds like a lie but I swear one of the first Blu Rays I played on the first 1080p tv I ever got was Speed Racer and in the first few minutes it caused the tv to go into a hard reset, and I was scared of playing it again like digital projection could barely contain its turbo power.

Immigrants are dying in ICE custody every week.

Just because mass deportation agents stopped executing Americans in the streets doesn’t mean the brutality is over.

DID YOU KNOW that I watched ONE (1) studio-created pre-release featurette about the making of an upcoming movie and now I'm uncritically parroting their talking points from the featurette back to you my loyal audience and adding ZERO (0) context or analysis

With The Christophers, Steven Soderbergh Has Crafted His Best Film in Decades Anchored by two meaty lead performances, the prolific director’s heist drama skillfully explores the limits of genius.

My first unqualified rave of the year is for The Christophers, a terrific heist drama that I think will only get better with repeat viewings.

More movies where McKellen is not a superhero or a wizard, please.

It was a pioneer in HD cinematography! (Looked like ass, but still.) I was planning to see it in theaters but it flopped so hard it was gone in a couple of weeks iirc.

Of Course Hamlet Is Everywhere Right Now Why does ‘Hamlet’ feel like it’s everywhere right now’? Shakespeare’s greatest play has never gone away, but we seem to be at an especially ripe moment for its revival.

How the Internet Fringe Infiltrated Republican Politics Inside the battle for the post-MAGA G.O.P.

This is a really great piece. I gotta say, though, at the end of the day, this is just *embarrassing*. We have united all the country's worst, dumbest, most internet-poisoned dipshits into one organization & they are genuinely just embarrassing to contemplate.

YOU, ME & TUSCANY made me feel like the robot boy David at the end of Spielberg’s A.I ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, given a chance to have one last visit with a palimpsest of a beloved genre before it disappears forever. www.vulture.com/article/you-...

James Corden Should Play Jerks More Often He’s clearly better suited for darker, sharper, more caustic roles. His turn in Steven Soderbergh’s The Christophers is a start.
