This didn’t make sense.
Deep in Rattlesnake Gulch, an old road led to:
• A shallow mine
• A forgotten trail
• Signs someone built out here
But the strangest part… wasn’t any of that.
These photos are just a glimpse.

I’m having that same problem as of this past Sunday. I uploaded a new video Saturday morning and I noticed Sunday afternoon that only about eight or nine of the 90 comments will show. The missing comments are still showing up in Notifications, so once YT fixes the problem, all should be well. 🤞

What looked like a solid ceiling… wasn’t.
False floors above us were holding back tons of loose rubble.
And deeper inside—bottomless shafts dropping into darkness.

Two portals led us into the abandoned Comet Mine…
False floors above us hiding massive stopes.
Loose rubble overhead.
And deeper in—two bottomless shafts.
These four photos are just a glimpse.

You’re really getting swole! Looks great! 👍

I almost turned around.
This road looked like it went nowhere.
I was wrong.
New video kicks off the 2026 season this Saturday (tomorrow the 28th) at 7:04 AM Pacific:
“This Faint, Forgotten Desert Road Led to a Lost Mine”
Thank you for your support and interest!
After a few months off, I got back out to do some exploring again on the first day of spring.
Here are a few photos from the latest trip.
Video goes live next Saturday.
Good to be back.
Thanks for the analysis! I wasn’t even aware that season 2 had started until I saw your post. I will probably check it out and see how it goes for me. Of course, this means I’ll have to watch season 1 all over again to get caught back up on all the details and nuances.
I haven’t begun to watch season 2 yet. Enjoyed season 1. Why did you only make it halfway through the first episode of season 2? What happened? Why was it apparently so bad?
If you enjoy symphony orchestras and stuff like that, make it a priority to catch André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra whenever they are performing in your city or in a city near you. The repertoire is more light classical and pop music, but he and his crew always put on a great show!
I hear you about OnTrac. OnTrac was the company that was used by some of those meal kit delivery companies I’ve ordered from like Home Chef and Hello Fresh. OnTrac is the worst! Sometimes they don’t even show up on the day they’re supposed to show up.
One thing I’ve started doing when going through drive-thrus at fast food restaurants is bringing my own beverage from home in a thermos. I’m tired of paying $3 for an iced tea or soda. I’ve even taken my thermos into restaurants for the same reason, although I do downplay the fact that I’m doing so.
No, I have not.
That was the date the video was uploaded.
The movie with the same title that came out in the early 1980s stars Rob Lowe, Jodie Foster, and a couple other notable actors is definitely worth a watch. “Keep passing the open windows!” if you’ve read the book or seen the movie, you’ll know what I’m referencing with that quote.
The exploration of the abandoned Delano Mine continues here in Part 2!

Love to hear this! I remember, though, that “Creature of Havoc“ had a really bad error in one of the paragraphs that totally ruined the game. This error did not appear in all printings of the book, though. I hope this error was rectified with this upcoming reprint.
I came across an old ore bin silently standing between some trees. Sam from Western Adventures and I spent over four hours underground exploring a massive abandoned mine connected to the area. The footage we captured is incredible — spectacular underground adventure videos are coming soon!
I played all the Resident Evils, all the Silent Hills, all of Crash Bandicoots, and so many more. Also have played some of the Final Fantasy games – especially the early ones. Really liked the original Bioshock and played it twice. Chrono Cross was also pretty good as was Chrono Trigger.
I also have quite the library! I was always more into the adventure, horror, and fantasy RPG games.
Love that you still have a PS1! I do too, but mine’s in storage since I can play the PS1 games on my PS2 that’s hooked up to my old-school TV. I also have a PS3 in the living room. I don’t play much anymore, though I almost replayed “Silent Hill” before Halloween.
But we only spend four months out of the year in Standard Time. The other eight months are spent in Daylight Saving Time. DST is the standard.
@mrmokelly.bsky.social Hey, Mo! Disappointed to hear that KFI let you & Tawala go. I always enjoyed listening to the show here and there when I was out running errands or coming back from a long trip trip. Will definitely be looking forward to you to popping up somewhere else and continuing onward.
You forgot the line right before that when Clark says, “Vicky, can I help you with that Kool-Aid? Please?” Vicky was stirring the Kool-Aid with her hand and forearm. LOL

New video premieres tomorrow: a hike to two remote abandoned mine sites. Collapsed tunnels and four deep vertical shafts reveal the dangers miners faced—and the hazards that remain. ⛏️
