I made another game! it's 2-3 hours and features farming, exploration, books and letters to read, three different endings (one is secret!), and a forbidden shrine to use!

it's FREE on web and just a couple bucks for the download!

get ready for my upcoming game, The Keeper of the Silent Grove, where you can explore a manor, grow plants, help two people trying to cure a plague, and make a choice to save the world!

Neato. This book cover I did for Eileen Garvin's Crow Talk (via Penguin Random House Books) is officially ok to share now. Finished the job almost a year ago and had to sit on it until they made it public. Book goes on sale April 30th.

I'm not sure everyone would be interested an entire series of self-portraits, but I'd be down.

Sorry, you'll have to settle for one more heart on your post. And this reply.

Do you have any progress videos? Not for this piece specifically, ofc. I'm just curious about how you do your pixel arts.

As much as they deserve it; this isn't on them, it's on me. It was a satirical site and I didn't realize it.

I need to verifitize more next time.

You and me both!

Turns out the witty witticisms on the whimsical website were wonderfully woven with wicked satire. (i.e. it was a satire site and they're not actually rebranding)

Your prayers have been answered. It was a satire site.

Well, they get a pass this time. They didn't actually do it; it was apparently a satire site. I'm just glad they're not doing more bad.

Turns out they're not getting away with anything! It was a satire site and I didn't realize it. :(

Turns out it was! The site is satire and I fell for it.

Apparently Squeaky Wheel is a satire site, they didn't actually rebrand, and I need to verify a bit more before posting. Thanks to @stereorage82.bsky.social for pointing it out.

Thanks! I totally missed that it was a satirical article. I should have done more checking on my own before posting.

I don't think explaining its other values diminishes its importance for PWD or others that need it. As long as you're not crafting the alt text differently, it's just another curb cut effect thing.

...and since it should technically be "signifier" and not "affordance," it allows more pedantic designers to correct you. I like to think that the sense of self-satisfaction will help them retain the information.

I've always found it...weird using phrases like "don't use color alone..." or "don't use color as the only way to communicate info..." etc.

I've switched to "don't use color as a primary affordance." It doesn't feel as weird to say and doesn't feel as difficult to parse when hearing it.
