After all the misery they brought at least they can fight for our entertainment, last man standing rules.

Looks like an oil sump got hit hard enough to spill the oil all over which started burning in contact with fresh air. Would be my guess. At the end of the video, as the fire subsides, there's visible spillage on the ground spreading out. Not sure if that totals the car, but still deserved.

OK, I was worried there was some controversy I should know about that would warrant putting Linux in the same sentence with so many nasty things. You never know these days.

I don't understand. Is Linux now frowned upon for some reason? What does it have to do with nazis and/or evangelists and/or parasocial behaviour? Should I be worried?

I agree. I just started wondering about its literal meaning. If we say neuro-divergent, my mind goes: "divergent from what?". At which point I have to concede that I don't know what the actual neurological baseline is. If there ever was one to begin with.

There is no evidence to support the idea that NT neurotype is the "default" from which all other neurotypes have diverged over time.

More likely the "typical" neurotype has proliferated due to population rise and sedentary life style in larger groups, which suits it better as an environment.

The only reason why NT people are called "typical" is because they *currently* make the majority of the population.

Neuro-divergent label implies divergence from "typical" and there's not a shred of evidence to support that.

Latest research supports autism and ADHD as independent neurotypes.

Burnt out, with general anxiety disorder, persistent depression disorder, poor sleep, frequent nightmares, cPTSD, substance abuse. All consequences of masking and trying to fit in with limited success rates.

That control tower looks like a large ship. Pretty cool design.

Yes. While group projects increase output, the energy efficiency is lower and entropy increases... Just like when Humpty broke into pieces.

OCR from image is a cool tool, but it doesn't help if I'm posting photos or art, especially if they are more abstract or very detailed. It's cruel to visually impaired, but the saying "picture is worth a thousand words" is sometimes valid.

After nearly 10'000 years of human history repeating itself, I'm shocked people expect evolution to happen in 50 years. And even if it magically did, there's no guarantee evolution would make us better. Evolution doesn't care about anything except successful procreation.

In principle I agree, but i just can't fully explain what a mental hurdle adding alt text is when I'm burnt out, depressed and on 0 spoons, which is most of the time.
I get it's invaluable tool for disabled, but at the same time my disability is ignored in the process.

The majority of US wealth comes from military industrial complex, petrodollar and low interest loans all of which are interdependent. If you remove bomb making and using, it would collapse the economy and investment opportunities. But you reap what you sow.

The "AI", as it currently is, may be able to launch nukes, but nowhere near as good for autonomous robots, especially not the humanoid type... If that helps. 😬

They'd still need fresh water or some other system for cooling, but yeah, could be a good premise for a short story at least.

I get that a century ago movie theaters were necessary, but going to a packed theater in this day and age, WITH food and drinks, must be a special kind of herd behaviour. I don't understand the appeal, but it obviously makes a good portion of people very happy.

Depends on what the aliens did during their visit, I suppose. Might need something on the scale of ID4 to get any traction.

Some smartphones with zoom cameras were caught automatically enhancing moon photos in post processing. You couldn't turn it off. I think they removed that since then, but I'm wondering if newer camera software might be doing something similar. You could maybe try comparing with a screenshot.

The way it used to work is you would take the photo first then the post processing would add details to it so the picture in gallery looked better than the one you see through camera lens.

Wasn't there like a big controversy about built-in AI on flagship phones to enhance photos, especially the moon shots? Like, it looked realistic, but it was not correct compared to raw photos. Do we know if they ever "fixed" that?
