Some smartphones with zoom cameras were caught automatically enhancing moon photos in post processing. You couldn't turn it off. I think they removed that since then, but I'm wondering if newer camera software might be doing something similar. You could maybe try comparing with a screenshot.

The way it used to work is you would take the photo first then the post processing would add details to it so the picture in gallery looked better than the one you see through camera lens.

Wasn't there like a big controversy about built-in AI on flagship phones to enhance photos, especially the moon shots? Like, it looked realistic, but it was not correct compared to raw photos. Do we know if they ever "fixed" that?

They can have my crummy code. It's pretty horrible and a good example of how not to write. It'd be really funny if it was used to train the machine.

Raindrops on window glass from short shower followed by bright sunshine leave interesting patterns on window frame.

When I was working in IT, I spent a good year or more writing and replacing is<State> variable names with Canadian style <state>Eh even though I am in no way adjacent to Canada, just for the lolz.

I've been using Vivaldi since migrating to Linux and I'm very happy with it. The extra sidebars and status bars are easy to hide and streamline the UI. Less buggy than Chrome anyway.

On insect scales power to weight ratio is in favour of ants (square-cube law), which is why ants can carry things 10-50 times their own weight. So it's not really a fair comparison. Factoring that in, human built pyramids are more impressive because they wouldn't be possible without tool use.

I spent silly amount of hours making this widget in KWGT app. I also made a similar application in Java as desktop app and a smartwatch face in Facer. I may be a bit obsessed with ever-changing sunrise/sunset times.

Could it just be leucistic? Albino individuals very rarely survive to adulthood in the wild.

Wait till they find out autistic neurotype predates strongly self-domesticated one that became dominant after agriculture spread and that we now call "typical". Probably gonna flip the script and start calling us primitive savages, even though earlier homo sapiens had 10-15% larger brains.

One of the most unique and interesting ship designs from SW. In Start Wars: Rebels, episode “Wings of the Master” there is a detailed account of the origins of this design (retconned), painting it as one of the most powerful starfighter of the era.

Unironically, I believe a year or 2 in the wilderness would do me more good than all the meds and treatments I've received in 20 years. Especially if I get a free compass and a spear.

I've recently looked into how ANC devices work, because in theory it's a very simple idea. In practice, ANC systems try to _predict_ the signal and invert it so it cancels out. Due to processing speed limit this works well only for lower frequencies. A bit disappointing, ngl.
