Apparently DHS is handing out these awards to some of the people who participated in Operation Metro Surge here in Minnesota. Absolute lunatic behavior.

Comics page with the title "America's Greatest Comics." It depicts a U.S. flag-themed superhero confronting a man on his knees. The man asks, "Why are you asking me for your paperwork." The superhero bends menacingly over the man and says, "Because of your accent." The man clutches his head in bewilderment and says, "You have an accent too!" The superhero violently grabs the man, slings him over his shoulder, and takes him away.

These two pages combine figures from something like 15 different comics. Logistically and technically really difficult to make—and the material is nightmarish—but perversely fun to figure this thing out. My x-acto knife needs a break…

Text reads, "Recapture our national identity! Join us in the fight to reclaim our identity as a people. Make the decisions that will determine what our country looks like."

'AI Is African Intelligence': The Workers Who Train AI Are Fighting Back Kenyan workers are still the underpaid labor behind AI training, moderation, and sex chatbots. The Data Labelers Association is fighting back.

I met with AI data labelers in Kenya who are organizing their colleagues to fight the brutal working conditions and horrible pay given to the workers at the "bottom of the AI supply chain." They believe the NDAs they've signed are unenforceable so are speaking out:

Will Eisner’s Uncle Sam superhero is all over my new comic—consistently depicted in my work as a murderous monster. So it was funny to come across this old machine—on Valentines Day, no less—where you shake Sam’s hand to measure your sexiness. Uncle Sam declared me “HOT STUFF.”
