That and the perpetual loop of game breaking bugs that sometimes pops up whenever you try to fix another one, could turn into a game of cat and mouse

I see! Did you use a mix of cards and some POM wizardry in th first game, and are you going to show the different results on your tests or just the final solution?

Could you please go over how youre making the fur for your characters? Im assuming youre taking a different approach now with Unreal than with Unity?

Yeah, i did try it again a few years later but i really couldnt remember how to do the most basic things and couldnt be arsed to go through tutorials on it again just for fun.

Always try to finish things to your ability, its always fun to look on older projects and see how much improvements have been made since then.

Some people have different opinions in whats considered pixel art, for me its mostly about if the artist work in pixels/scaled down or not. But since most digital art programs uses pixels it becomes sort of a fine line between pixel art or not when scaled up.

As long as it works its fine i'd say. Both from own experiences and others clothes are quite finicky to work with in the beginning, but gets easier with time

You could try to transfer the weightpainting data from the mesh to the clothes but it mostly gives mixed results, then you probably want to weight paint manually, but i would probably have just a few more cuts around joints to avoid the clipping.

Isn't this what happens in kcd sort of?

Its essentially just a shield to make people pay more to play on the ACTUAL day of release and justifying it as early access, hence why they delay the day one patch 3 days or so. Sadly I dont see this trend dissapearing anytime soon from AAA and some AA companies, just because it makes them alot.

Golden sun is such a great game, good choice!

Essentially what it does is it takes 4years and 400 employees to figure out how to plug it into the Tick event of the main menu level blueprint, and it gets you a complete mess of code decay and frame based physics a la bethesda

I do this same thing in my portfolio game, its nice and simple. I also made an variable that handles what overlay material to use, so I can easily swap to a medium grey tone for items that's already been interacted with, makes it a lot clearer in rooms with alot of interactables.

A dark and gritty game environment set in an old factory with concrete floor tiles and walls. Theres a yellow door being highlighted from a spotlight, and a stash of supplies finds its home in the flickering light of candles on a industrial shelf.

Week one on the art progress for a new portfolio piece for game art.
It kind of seems like people are sleeping on the fact that Quixel mixer exists, works sort of like substance suite, but you know for free. Sadly it have not been updated since like 2022 or so.

This, I feel like the algorithms or something has been completely broken since they added the AI stuff and lean heavily on giving old reddit posts with no answers from 2012. I used to be so much easier just a couple of years aso

Makes you want to rip your hair out sometimes, especially whenever the preferences gets corrupted. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I also thought I would be freed from these crashes when I started working more in blender, but nope.. subdivided one too many times and now you have to wait for an hour for blender to load lol.

You're welcome! Looking forward to see the progress and to play it with a friend one day!

This is probably one of the cutest games this year, straight to wishlisting this!

Oh i see, i think that the dark mode made my brain go brrrt, didnt even know that docs had a dark mode lol

1 year ago 1 0 0 0

What program are you using for creating the document?

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

Right now on linkedIn i can see that Massive have that in their character artist job post. Though i would assume the majority of the time you'd be in maya or zbrush rather than blender, even if youre more proficient in it. But its still there so i guess its getting there some day.

Another fun fact is that more AA and AAA companies list Blender as one of the recommended DCC tool experience. However I do think theres some things that needs to be improved upon before they can reach one of the top spots. The origin point is clunky to work with and always have been for example.
