It's especially important to read the documentation on how these work, even though AAO T & O will get you more than half of the way. The last part was really tedious manually selecting which physbones to merge. And I agree that people should be encouraged until VRC can optimize more via the SDK.

Tools used:
- Anatawa12's Avatar Optimizer (Trace And Optimize, Merge Physbones, Merge Blendshapes, Remove Mesh By BlendShape)
- LAC Texture Compressor (High quality preset)
- Meshia Cascading Avatar Mesh Simplifier (for in Unity decimation, and the avatar has to be manually baked first)
Since it's a hot topic right now, I decided to optimize two of my most used avatars down to medium rating.
It was a bit of a hassle and I don't really understand how people that are not used to working in Unity are supposed to be able do this.
If you attach Trace and Optimize, AAO will do a bunch of automatic optimizations (including skinned mesh merging and blend shape baking/deletion) automatically as well (there’s a fair bit of overlap with D4rk, but AAO has a mission of never breaking your avatar with T&O so I tend to prefer that one)
Adjust this
To be fair though, I'm eyeing the Galaxy XR next due to the uOLEDs and excellent face and eye tracking, but weight might become an issue once again.
I got the Beyond 2e two weeks ago, and while not perfect, it's a lot lighter so far less inertia when turning my head. The eye tracking is passable with Baballonia but a far cry from how good the vive pro eye is. I also moved the vive mouth tracker over and it works fine.
For the first time I switched from a VRChat instance to a Resonite session because I saw friends were playing there. I ended up spending the rest of the evening in Resonite.
XYVR is already doing its job 👍 bsky.app/profile/just...
I switched to Kagi and I'm so much happier with a search engine that actually works, and one where I'm not the product
I managed to bind the button on my hip tracker in SteamVR to access the camera and personal mirror in #VRChat a bit easier
theres always talk about '320kbps this' 'flac that' here but how many ppl in this community are checking their files are actually what they say they are? if you're chasing rarer stuff especially vinyl era stuff just cause it says 320 on slsk and your player doesn't mean it actually is

I bought the same one a few weeks ago for the same reason, lol
Been using it to clean the pc, audio gear and blow dust out of my car.
It's the perfect balance. I do two days in the office for meetings, then implement stuff on the days I wfh. The time saved on not having to commute is so worth it.
After playing around with the Behringer DEQ2496 for a while now and doing an actual room correction and EQ. The sound got so much better, all the annoying frequencies that were previously overblown resonance are now gone.
My new EQ...
Oh no... 😥
He was one of the first people I friended in the scene, back in the DDVR days.
Even though we didn't interact that much recent years, we always greeted each other on the dance floor.
Rest in peace.
