I wonder how Beethoven would feel seeing his Overtures to Fidelio and Creation of Prometheus being played on a blue plastic trumpet. Probably "What the hell is plastic?" and "What are those (valves)" and "Who let a wench play in an orchestra?" and "damn, still can't hear anything."

Back on my blue shit

Playing plastic trumpet with Hell’s Kitchen Lab Orchestra, an orchestra made up of NYC musicians/Broadway people on their secondary instruments.

Beethoven Fidelio Overture and Brahms 4

Best part was not having to stress about the horn solos lol

This sounds like the female version of Trump handing out shoes to the men in his inner circle and them wearing them even though they don't fit

I don't remember! I was a student when this happened in 2008!

Also this is just orchestra stuff but I have SO. MANY. PIT. STORIES

Also saw London Sym concert where the timpanist was clearly lost and when the piece (Shosti 10) ended he kept playing…loudly. The conductor threw his baton, stormed off stage as everyone in the audience sat in shocked silence. Then the most cinematic slow clap began. Sooo awkward

Also in a rehearsal in an outdoor shell venue, a cat fell out of the ceiling, landed in percussion section, ran through the entire orchestra causing everyone to scream and jump from their seats until it got through the firsts violins and yeeted itself into the audience. It was THE BEST

Also saw Cleveland Orch do a 11am concert (which was mostly old people) and EVERYONES PHONE KEPT GOING OFF which lead the conductor before the last piece (Bolero) to address the audience and begged everyone to turn off their phones and alarms

Also did a Beethoven 9 where someone brought their dog and it barked in the a dramatic silent moment

Didn’t happen to me but my college Orchstra the year after I left did Saint-Saens Organ Symphony and someone pulled the fire alarm in the last mvt but no one noticed until the piece ended

In a rehearsal but the conductor stabbed himself with his baton, finished the mvt and then ended rehearsal so he could go to the hospital

Jon McNaughton is the only artist I don’t mind AI stealing from and taking work from

There is a little park near me that is dedicated to Ronald McNair, a passenger on the Challenger.
The apple trees there started blossoming when the Artemis II launched.

Too young to have Challenger trauma but my childhood space travel trauma was reading Tintin Explorers on the Moon where a character had to un-alive themselves so the rocket would have enough O2 to get back to earth.

Anyways glad Artemis II is back on earth safe

IMO they aren’t safe until they are back home, in their pjs, lying in bed and watching Friends reruns

Funny how being stranded in the Pacific Ocean is considered “safe” after a trip to the moon

Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s replaced most of those house elves with AI at this point. His music is boring and unimaginative, making it easily replicated by the plagiarism machine.
