David's had this a long time in the making. So good to see it out in public, and so satisfying to "play" with it.
Well done, @meodai.bsky.social!

You'll have to ask a Marketer for that, as I'm definitely not one.
We all have our own, individual echo chamber. It's called principles and opinions. Nothing new.
Creator Economy, that's where it points, that's the context.
You'll have to ask the organizations Bluesky talks to in the OP.
In context it can highlight gatekeeping. On its own it means very little.
Doesn't have to be for people like you and I.
But "organizations", unless they're Hydra or something, don't like to live in the shadows. The whole post was directed at organizations and clearly framed as marketing speech.
Don't confuse "creators" for "artists", for example. That word was not picked randomly.
Of course they are not the most important metric, but it's a metric that in context highlight throttling issues. Which is why I brought it up, since Bluesky brought up throttling and audience / reach.
For me, the most important metric is seeing someone create actual work with one of my palettes.
My point exactly. That was "marketing speech" directed at organizations, not at regular users that don't care about numbers.
"your palettes are nice btw"
Thank you, that's kind of you, feel free to use any if you find a fit for it.
I know a few orgs that have moved here, and honestly all of them have left X because they don't want to support Musk. That was THE reason. Anything else was secondary.
And that's cool too. I genuinely don't care about analytics on my own content either, believe it or not. I'm giving a shit ton of my stuff for free.
But my argument was strictly from the perspective Bluesky framed – organizations. And unfortunately, in this world, for them, numbers still matter.
It would have been cool if it were just a reality-check report, but it's what Bluesky says it offers instead for orgs. So it's not a simple report, it's Bluesky taking a marketing stand.
I don't care what people post and how they do it, if it makes them happy. But their post was not about "people".
And you can, and should do whatever you like on the platform, and that was not the point.
"More and more organizations, publishers, and creators are abandoning legacy platforms that throttle their reach. Bluesky gives them a direct line to their audiences, without suppression or gatekeeping."
This is the original post, with Bluesky addressing organizations (which include businesses).
Sure thing, but tell that to Bluesky, because they must be even more confused than I am.
"More and more organizations, publishers, and creators are abandoning legacy platforms that throttle their reach."
Not saying, quoting.
We'll all survive, warrior.
Who cares about posting “dude”? This is not my life, nor my livelihood. The argument is very simple and has nothing to do with regular users and their posting habits, patterns and so on.
As for “taking it out” on people, I’m not going around calling people or their opinions “stupid”. Childish act.
To crazy acts.
So much rage. Are you OK? Blink twice if you need help.
Don’t divert. I told you why it’s doomed to fail like this, and then you can take your decentralized ideal funds and back it up out of your pockets. Brands care about knowledge.
And yes, it is technically possible to implement, and it’s just a principle issue that they haven’t done it.
Until there’s no ride anymore. Without brand and businesses backing it up, it goes belly up.
