Just back from a week on Cyprus, the main reason was to try and see a Blue Cheeked Bee-eater, I saw 16 !

I heard them at 845am, but I didn't actually see them until nearly midday! There are 2 reedbeds for them to hide in. Good luck if you go!

Yes, they are really struggling. Some great work is being done here, though. Breeding areas are totally fenced off, and some larger beaches are closed from 3pm to allow the penguins to come ashore without being disturbed.
After 2 days of failing to find any at other sites, I finally saw 4 Yellow eyed penguins today at Katiki Point, New Zealand

A day of 2 extremes, a Fiordland crested penguin so far out in Milford Sound that I nearly missed it, to a Weka sat 3 feet away on my picnic table!! πͺΆπ³πΏ

Kaikoura 2nd pelagic, other superb birds including Westland Petrels, Bullers Shearwaters, Grey Faced Petrel, and even a Pacific Reef Heron on the trip back in. Another incredible trip ! πͺΆπ³πΏ
