One thing I will never forget is how six Republican Justices on the bench of our Highest Court declared kidnapping and disappearing human beings without a paper trail to anywhere in the world is a lawful act.

SCOTUS is the now the very death panel Republicans told us to fear.

Further context: If you’ve never dealt with FEMA after a disaster I can tell you they answer within 30 seconds. No hold times. Real live wonderful people who help while you cry and can’t even figure out what questions to ask. They walk you through it all. Every call.

Since 1980, there have been over 400 weather disasters in the US, with total damages over $1 billion.

These disasters have cost $2.9 trillion in total and killed nearly 17,000 people.

Don't tell me we "can't afford" to address the climate crisis.

The truth is we can’t afford not to.

Project 2025 clearly states that the goal is to defund and eliminate NOAA/NWS, so it can be privatized, monopolized, and made for profit.

It also states clearly that NOAA’s climate change messaging must be stopped.

This is all by design.

Apparently, "in 2016 engineers warned that Kerr County faced a high risk of a devastating flood. They recommended high-water sensors, river gauges, and automated alerts to protect lives. FEMA and NOAA offered funding pathways, but local Republican leadership rejected those recommendations."

Tech bros get frustrated with politics, which involves painstaking, often frustrating communication & compromise with other people who have different backgrounds & perspectives, so their approach is always to wish it away: a brand new city! a brand new political party! this one weird trick!

Lack of New U.S. Sanctions Allows Restricted Goods and Funds Into Russia

“Trump’s approach to economic statecraft is to impose pressure and get leverage and try to get the best deal possible,” he said.

But “for whatever reason, with Russia, he doesn’t want to have any leverage over Putin.”

Mayor Brandon Scott has reduced crime in Baltimore by 62%, and now has the lowest homicide rate in Baltimore history.

How did he do it?

NOT be spending more on police. He did it by MAJOR investment in afterschool and literacy programs.
