Millions of Americans use marijuana, both medically and recreationally—yet, federal restrictions limit universities from conducting critical cannabis research.
I introduced a bill with @titus.house.gov to remove these barriers and help us make better public health decisions.

Federal law makes it nearly impossible to hold federal officers accountable for violating our rights.
That's why we're using a state law — the Maine Civil Rights Act — to sue the agents who violently abducted an immigrant with legal status.
We'll do whatever it takes to protect our communities.
Peet is always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Except last year there seemed to be three different shoes, as she faced her parents' deaths and a breast cancer diagnosis. n.pr/4vyiWZK
Right now, more than 350,000 Haitians in the US face the threat of losing Temporary Protected Status.
It is cruel, unlawful, & life-threatening.
This week, we're forcing the House to vote on extending TPS for Haiti.
This is good policy, good for families, & good for America.
“It’s not simply an immigration enforcement measure; it’s something different,” EFF’s @davidgreene.bsky.social told @elpais.com. “They are conducting an investigation—or trying to obtain authorization—to bring federal criminal charges against someone, someone whose identity we don’t know.”
Thank you to the Asian Law Caucus for the incredible honor at the 54th Anniversary Gala. It was an unforgettable evening celebrating leaders, like Congressmember Jayapal, who continue to defend and protect our civil rights.
I just filed a Supreme Court amicus brief to defend TPS with @pressley.house.gov, @markey.senate.gov, @vanhollen.senate.gov & 180+ Congressional Democrats.
l'll always fight to protect law-abiding, hard-working immigrant families from being ripped apart or sent back to dangerous conditions.
As a woman, I offer my sympathies to the Pope who is now being told hourly by very many random men what he actually means

NEW: We’re joined by 75 organizations in calling on Meta to cancel plans to install facial recognition technology on their “smart” glasses.
This tech would allow anyone who wears the glasses to identify and spy on those around them.
Meta must stop this all-out assault on our privacy and safety.
“I have no fear of the Trump administration.”
Pope Leo’s firm answer reminds us of the power of faith and decency over the smallness of autocratic leaders.
the fact that he’s using it for propaganda makes me regret ever painting this

Our budget proposal provides excellent city services for the highest quality of life, invests in our communities, and protects our financial health as a city during tough economic times.
With years of careful management and decision-making, we are uniquely positioned in Boston to weather the storm.
At first glance, newly released data on immunization rates among children in Massachusetts seem to validate the efforts by state officials to lead a national resistance to antivax ideology, but there are concerning hints of slippage.
Our Fourth Amendment rights don't come with a price tag.
Congress must close the loophole that the government uses to buy its way around the Constitution.

Ismael Ayala-Uribe complained about rectal pain. ICE med staff gave him stool softeners, but didn't actually examine him, and never found the abscess that later flooded his body with toxic bacteria and killed him.
A doctor who reviewed his death for us called it "absolute medical malpractice."
We reviewed hundreds of pages of ICE death reports, autopsies, and other records from 32 deaths with a total of 14 doctors.
Doctors determined that at least 17 times, people died after medical staff delayed or failed to provide critical care that might have saved their lives

The core story that Trump/Hegseth have been telling is that maximal threats of civilizational destruction are *affirmatively good* because they can force the world to bend to Trump's will.
That story, too, is now in tatters.
