-meant to say "crime ring".

Seems to me the world should create a Transnational Commission to investigate, as this crime crossed a great many country's boundaries, it's citizens, businesses, banks, etc.

and the rabbit ears, wrapped in foil.

But get this kids, we went through the development of the internet almost in real time. Unplug the phone, plug in the desktop and... wait. That noise is forever etched in my brain.

I'm not going back.

Montana just showed the country how to erase Citizen United at the state level. This needs to become a thing. Grotesque amounts of $$$ spent on elections is ridiculous.

Whoever is writing -The Manifesto For Rebuilding The Nation After IT Happens - needs to include bullet points on election reform.

It is changing, the pace is slow but I see some signs of hope and it's coming from people led causes, from community level to the state.

This is not a fail. This photo is going viral.
The vibe:
We want to put lasers coming from your eyes.
Shooting streams of truth and justice.
We see you and we are with you.
You are everywoman.

"In the place of problem-solving technology, companies have jumped on successive bandwagons like NFTs, the metaverse, and LLMs. What these all have in common is that they are not built to really solve a market problem. They are built to make VCs and companies rich."

Just ignore, for now, that little spelling error. It's fixable.

take names, so they can be served their shame in due time.

Only reinforces my instincts: I'd rather have a dozen REAL connections for books than a bookstagrammer influencer with thousands of followers. Authenticity matters.

Whoever wrote that book ought to use this for marketing. It's a once in a lifetime gift.

I'm sorry you got bamboozled. AI slop is definitely worse than most author's first novels. Like every skill, one gets better the more one does it. Every now and then a debut novel hits it out of the park and that's a lovely thing to behold.

Well, that sucks. A good thing that came about because of this fuckery is that I discovered you and have added your book to my Want To Read list. It's doubly good because I am not hesitant at all about reading a 2nd person POV and applaud authors who take chances with form and function. Can't wait!

Fantasy as a medium for satire and social commentary.

That's my vibe.
Getting ready for cover design. Fun stuff.

It's encouraging that places all over are building books and reading into community events. Last year, there was a 32% increase in independent bookstore openings. I take a lot of hope from these signs of positive community movement.

Plus I'm a nerd & writer who loves to celebrate reading and books.

They are all very good, in their own ways. Different genres but some similar themes running through them. I'm still thinking about that first book(IWHNKM), I think it'll stay with me for awhile.

Now I need to read something light and funny to rinse my palate.

It's called The Snohomish County Indie Bookstore week. The county produces a map/passport with all participating bookstores marked on it. It lasts a whole week. There's scavenger hunts, author signings/readings, and all kinds of bookish fun! This summer, there will be a Book Fest, with food trucks!

My goal when my first book was published was to sell 100 books, because most debut books don't sell that many. I did not sell that many either. I only sold 48 books and I gave away over 250 for free. I am still not looking at that as a fail because I published a book! Not everyone can say that.

We have something like that around here, for indie bookstores. I think there's a scavenger hunt involved too. It's fun.

Time for Mamdani and Obama to go to a baseball game with the Pope. Let’s just blow this whole thing wide open.
