global politics may indeed be moving be right, but the countries with strong social fabrics may weather the storm.

our weak fabric, our decades and scores of contemptible acts toward not just other nations, but our own people, cannot weather it.

we unfortunately will reset, better or worse.

you might think it goes back to citizens united. or maybe even the dulles brothers. go further, to the revolution.

america was the texas of britain. the ungovernable. and we have long prided ourselves on those genes. but we are finally seeing that payment is due when the global dynamics change.

i, too, think musk and trump are gutting our government. but it’s worth noting that the reason they are able to is because the gov. has long been hollowed out.

there is no off button. no undo. we are at the beginning of a complete reset one side or the other, because the middle path is lost.

So only .001 as biased, toxic, and harmful as Elon… not bad!

Also all of the externalized costs associated with distillation- the frontier models had to pay those for DeepSeek to reap them.

he’s been a senator longer than most americans have been alive (senator in ‘81, median age 38.9). old enough to have seen the dust bowl, and old enough to turn into one.

DeepSeek FAQ DeepSeek has completely upended people’s expectations for AI and competition with China. What is it, and why does it matter?

idk if you already read this, but interesting perspective on cost at stratechery- also notes those are only final training costs. stratechery.com/2025/deepsee...

We sunset our offering due to integration costs, but our customers utilized our AI agent. It would automate calls/texts to semi drivers, provide shipment details, and escalate to humans when things went sideways. LoadPartner Lasso was the product. We are building it into a larger product (TMS)

It is a vision that doesn’t contemplate wisdom or transformative change through experience. It instead sells “knowledge” as a cheap imitation of these, at the expense of insights and self-actualization.

I think @thulseo.bsky.social has a fair point. “Buy Loved One” doesn’t translate well and is one of their main screenshots.

Wow, what a devastating loss. Glad your family is safe and that luck had you home with them. We may not know each other, but this hits home as I think about being in that situation with my wife+1.5 year old. Thinking of you and others out there.

x/twitter is polluted with prime boomer posts now more than ever. everything is a thread and “untold story” about some historic event. Paul Harvey boomer nostalgia feels… and pretty lame

These tasks are normally handled by higher paid humans, so customers gain efficiency and savings. It is highly profitable for AI companies, as voice is charged per minute at 2-4x cost. Happy to share details if you’re still skeptical.

Lots of use cases, especially vertical specific. Triaging inbound communications from drivers in freight is an example.

Everything is becoming otherwise Maybe we’re all just prisms, turning ordinary light and latent consciousness into individual beams, forming a rainbow of humanity.

Everything is becoming otherwise... I wrote about the importance of every voice.

Seeing and hearing from people who had long been dormant but are now active again on Bluesky reminds me that every voice is important, no matter the size/reach.

I mostly agree, but the grieving and whining is mainly on Mastodon. What I have seen here so far is a group far more diverse and capable of multiple topics, not the singular “fml” feeling that became Mastodon.
